OBJECTIVE: To describe the perceptions of nursing professionals about humanization of their work process. METHODS: A qualitative research approach was used to conduct the study. Data were collected from seven nursing professionals of a Critical Care Unit of the Santa Casa de Misericordia de Pelotas-RS, through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed, through successive readings and content analysis. Two themes have emerged: Humanization of the work process and gaps of the humanization of the work process. RESULTS: In the hospital, the humanization of the work process continues to place emphasis in the person-customer, yet little attention to the care and humanization of the person-worker. CONCLUSION: Humanization of the work process is widely discussed in literature; however, in practice, it depends on behavioral change and internalization of the need of humanization by the person-worker of health institutions.OBJETIVO: conhecer a opiniao de profissionais de enfermagem sobre a humanizacao do processo de trabalho.
