Indexar para quem? Ou o conflito entre a linguagem natural versus linguagem controlada

A sociedade da informacao e do conhecimento, por se tratar de ambiente que se modifica constantemente, exige das pessoas novas habilidades. Com a “explosao da informacao”, o conhecimento alterou-se fazendo com que as aptidoes e habilidades dos profissionais fossem adequadas, e assim desenvolve-las de forma a conviver e produzir positivamente. Objetiva-se mapear, como o usuario do Sistema de Bibliotecas da Universidade Federal do Ceara elabora suas estrategias de busca no catalogo online, bem como confronta-las com a linguagem utilizada pelos indexadores da instituicao.Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva utilizando a abordagem quantitativa. A pesquisa foi elaborada tomando como base os relatorios de gestao do ano de 2014 do Pergamum da Universidade Federal do Ceara. O Pergamum – Sistema Integrado de Bibliotecas – e um sistema informatizado de gerenciamento de dados, direcionado aos diversos tipos de Centros de Informacao.Os usuarios que pesquisaram no catalogo online do Pergamum, disponibilizado no portal da biblioteca universitaria da UFC no ano de 2014, utilizaram-se da linguagem natural e, em sua maioria, da pesquisa por palavras. Portanto, em tempos de efemeridade e de uma infinidade de informacoes disponiveis, selecionar o que e util para usuario, torna-se papel fundamental, a fim de que as opcoes de ferramentas sejam otimizadas. Os sistemas informacionais sejam harmonicos com o perfil do publico ao utiliza-los, desde a sua interface, assim como no momento da indexacao dos itens informacionais, no tangente a escolha dos termos, levando-se em consideracao as especificidades de cada area do conhecimento.

O uso da tecnologia da informação e comunicação na educação superior: o caso do portal docente do sistema de gestão acadêmica da UFC.

Nos tempos atuais vivencia-se uma revolucao da tecnologia, da comunicacao e da informacao. Essa revolucao tem afetado a educacao, as instituicoes de ensino superior, a pratica docente, bem como seu relacionamento com os discentes. Com este estudo objetiva-se investigar como os docentes de graduacao da Universidade Federal do Ceara fazem uso da ferramenta de tecnologia da informacao e comunicacao denominada Portal Docente integrante do Sistema de Gestao de Atividades Academicas (SIGAA). Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratoria descritiva na qual os dados principais foram coletados no banco de dados da instituicao. Conforme verificado, o Portal Docente detem precario uso pelos docentes de graduacao da UFC, porem com crescimento gradual de uso a cada semestre letivo. Inexiste correlacao significativa entre a quantidade de arquivos postados e a idade do docente. Deste modo, alguma iniciativa devera ser implementada pela administracao superior da universidade para uma efetiva ampliacao da sua utilizacao.

Os docentes da Universidade Federal do Ceará e a utilização de alguns dos recursos do sistema integrado de gestão de atividades acadêmica (SIGAA)

Currently, we are living through a revolution in technology, communication, and information. This revolution has affected not only social life but also education, institutions of higher education, and teaching methods. Information systems manipulate data and generate information through technologies. Professors are the professionals involved with students, responsible for the universe of information, sharing information, allowing the spread of knowledge, and enabling the flux of information and communication with students. In this study, we aim to investigate some uses of Sistema Integrado de Gestao de Atividades Academica (SIGAA) by professors of undergraduate courses at Universidade Federal do Ceara (UFC), analyzing its use among the many university units. This is a descriptive explanatory research in which the main data were collected in the internal documents of this institution. As it could be verified, in each semester, the use of SIGAA has been gradually increasing among teachers’ UFC graduation; however, its use is not yet complete. Some academic units, such as FEAAC, CT, and CCA, are distinct regarding usage of the system.
