This qualitative study conducted in an ICU for adults and a unit Clinical, aimed at identifying ways and means of communication used by critical care nursing staff the adult patient on mechanical ventilation (MV), and the factors that interfere. Nursing and patients were the subjects interviewed. The first requirement is to have an intensivist who took care of conscious patients for some period of MV. Patients should be clear for verbalizing and have remained conscious for some period of MV. It was identified found that the team highlighted the writing, the wink and shake of the hand to communicate with patients, they point to shake the hand used most. Both suggest the permanence of family fostering the communication process. We conclude that there is a concern of staff in establishing effective communication with the patient, valuing the care and striving for a decent recovery

Gestão pública no SUS: considerações acerca do PMAQ-AB

The objective of the study was to understand the perception of the municipal health managers in the 28th Health Region of Rio Grande do Sul on the impacts of the National Program for Access and Quality Improvement in Primary Care (PMAQ-AB) in the organization of work and health assistance, as well as the aspects that translate their perceptions and involvement in the Program. It is a qualitative research with 11 health managers and the data were analyzed through Content Analysis. The results show positive and negative aspects of the Program, and detail deficiencies of the managers involvement with it, however the results point to positive impacts on the health management and assistance in the studied region.
