Plantas medicinales utilizadas en la salud infantil

Identificar las plantas medicinales utilizadas en la salud infantil por familias de agricultores de base ecologica de la region Sur de Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. El enfoque de investigacion es cualitativo, exploratorio y descriptivo, con datos recogidos de enero a mayo de 2009. Los sujetos fueron ocho familias de agricultores, residentes en los municipios de Pelotas, Morro Redondo, Cangucu y Arroio do Padre. Seis plantas fueron citadas (Chrysanthemun cinerariifolium, Foeniculum vulgare, Acca sellowiana, Citrus sp. Origanun sp. Sambucus spp.), y solo de una (Foeniculum vulgare) encontramos estudios farmacologicos comprobando lo que los sujetos de la investigacion referian. Es muy importante que el profesional enfermero tenga conocimientos sobre plantas medicinales para transmitir la informacion pertinente sobre la forma de preparacion, dosis e indicaciones relativas a las plantas utilizadas en la salud infantil.

As plantas medicinais como possibilidade de cuidado para distúrbios urinários

Doi: 10.5902/2179769210377 Aims: to investigate the medicinal plants recommended for urinary disorders, by descendents of the rural area of a town in the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Method: qualitative research with nine participants from the rural area of the town Capao do Leao/RS. Data collection occurred between July and August of 2010 through simple observation and semi-structured interviews, which were compared with scientific studies. Results: seven plants for urinary disorders were listed by the participants (Bauhinia sp., Bidens alba, Equisetum hyemale, Fragaria vesca, Petroselium crispum, Phyllanthus sp., Plantago australis). Scientific studies about all of them were found, demonstrating their popularly known effects. Conclusions: It is important to know and value the popular knowledge about medicinal plants, as well as their scientific evidences in order to assist health professionals in their work.

Avaliação da satisfação de familiares de pacientes atendidos em unidades de terapia intensiva: revisão integrativa

Objective: to analyze the scientific production related to the evidence on the satisfaction of family members of ICU patients and the instruments used for the evaluation. Method: An integrative review in which articles published between 2005 and 2015 were analyzed in English, Portuguese or Spanish, in the PUBMED / MEDLINE and LILACS databases and the SciELO library. The following were used as a search strategy: personal satisfaction OR satisfaction AND family. For the purpose of the data collection of articles, an instrument was developed with information such as title, authors, year of publication and journal, study objective, design, participants, research site, main theme and results. Results: 27 studies met the inclusion criteria. Four instruments were used to evaluate the satisfaction of family members of ICU patients: Critical Care Family Satisfaction Survey, Family Satisfaction in the Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Family Needs Inventory and the Quality of Dying and Death. The studies addressed the satisfaction of family members in relation to their needs and decision making, satisfaction with palliative care, and cross-cultural adaptation studies and the validation of instruments were also evidenced. Regarding the level of evidence, the studies focus on levels II to VI. Conclusion: the analysis of the scientific production on the satisfaction of family members of ICU patients showed that the factor that contributes most to the promotion of family satisfaction was the quality of care

Práticas de cuidado realizadas no período puerperal por agricultoras

Aim: to know the practices of health care carried out in the puerperal period by families of farmers in a city in the south of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Method: a qualitative study, carried out in a rural area of a municipality in the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul. Data collection occurred from May to September 2014, through semistructured interviews, which were recorded. The data were analyzed according to Minayos operational proposal. Results: twenty-five participants who practice family farming were approached. Cultural legacy still influences the health care provided to puerperal women and their newborns. The most cited care practice that were performed during the puerperal period were related to food intake, breastfeeding, hygiene, and work. Final Considerations: it is important that the nurses give proper attention to the main cultural care carried out by the families, seeking to comprehend them, in order to achieve integral health care

O Processo de trabalho dos enfermeiros da atenção primária e a Política Nacional de Plantas Medicinais/Fitoterápicos

This study aimed to understand nurses’ work processes in primary health care in relation to the National Politics of Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapies. The referential was based on Guareschi and Kleinman. The approach was qualitative and descriptive. Nurses from 21 towns of Southern Rio Grande do Sul participated. Data collection was a self-administrated questionnaire, in the period of June to August of 2013. The analysis followed Minayo’s operative proposal, two themes emerged: nurses’ work processes and the National Politics of Medicinal Plants and Phytotherapies and the viability of this in primary health care. The ignorance of the policy, but they indicate medicinal plants in the work process. The policy is practicable, when the nurses make groups, put the interdisciplinary dialogue in practice and contemplate the users’ cultural aspects.

Diálogo sobre plantas medicinais: significados de escolares

This study aims to know the meanings attributed by students to dialogue about medicinal plants in health care. It is a qualitative research with 65 students of two schools in the city of Pelotas/RS, from September 2011 to August 2012. The analyzed data was produced after 18 workshops from essays written by students and focus groups. The meetings allowed us to stimulate in the students values directed to the recognition of the family knowledge and the development of critical thinking about the safe use of medicinal plants, awakening them new visions of the world and providing a reflexion on the care practices. The use of Geertz and Freire referential in the workshops allowed dialogue with the culture of the students and discuss situations of life, becoming in perspective for educational practice nurses.
