Drawing of layout documentation as the basis of logistics management system of a company literature review, new methodics, case study

Martin Hart; Pavel Taraba; Marek Tomaštík

Contemporary business market environment has got very dynamic and volatile character. The financial and economy crisis in 2008 influenced all industrial branches and their supply chains in a great deal. Competitiveness across global markets is evident in many ways such as cost, quality or time delivery. The industrial companies must manage all processes in their inner and outer supply chains thru their integrated logistics management systems. General logistics management system of a company is composed of subsystems which can be classified as purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing, packaging, distribution and reverse material flows management. One of the logistics objectives is to plan, to manage and to control all rising material flows inside particular mentioned subsystems. Thus, the foundation of effective logistics management system is layout drawing documentation in required detail. The paper deals with very up-to-date topic, how and in which sequence to create layout drawing documentation of companys areas. The documentation should be created in given order and in appropriate detail level. For this purpose has been developed methodics which has been applied in an industrial sphere. According to the created methodics, the documentation should be included the layout drawings of industrial zone, production halls, production lines, production workshops, production cells and production workplaces, etc. As soon as the documentation is created in a company, the integrated logistics management system can start to be built and then all material processes can be effectively realized or optimized. The development of new methodics or methodologies is crucial for innovations today.

Methodics to Create Effective Inventory Management System in a Company

Martin Hart; Miroslav Musil; Pavel Taraba

Pursuant to the statistics data of Eurostat, the economy of European Union is slowly recovering from year lasting recession. The gross domestic product volume increased in 2nd quarter of the year 2013 by 0.3%. The industrial companies in EU are nevertheless facing still increasing competitiveness as the European and global markets are developing under current business conditions. To be successful within the frame of current supply chains the companies must have well-developed logistics management systems to effectively treat with flows streaming in their inner or outer supply chains. One of the main elements of company logistics management systems is inventory management subsystem to plan, to manage and to control particular stock items. In the paper it is briefly described the methodics to design effective inventory management system whether in industrial or service company.

Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Based on Demand Forecasting—Supply Chain Sustainable Growth

Martin Hart; Pavel Taraba; Jiří Konečný

Contemporary business environment is characterized by a high level of dynamics development and by competitive advantage. There is an increasing demand on both living environment protection and effective management of supply chains of particular industries. Supply chains have been becoming more complex and bulkier in the light of streaming material flows. One of the bases of a long-term socio-economic development of society in current global business environment is effective planning, management and control of bulky material flows of supply chains. Company’s management systems and also manufacturing management systems should be based on a forecasting subsystem of an independent demand or consumption. An accurate demand forecast enables adequate production of final products, parts, etc., although there is no overproduction or shortage. In final consequence the manufacturing systems based on progressive forecasting subsystems represent one of the main parts of supply chains in context of living environment protection and long-term sustainable development—thus the production or material flows are adequate within particular regional or global supply chains. This article deals with current issues of effective manufacturing systems of supply chains based on prognostic subsystems of independent demand or consumption.

The Rationalization and Logistics Management Origins in Bata Company

Marek Tomaštík; Martin Hart; Jan Strohmandl

The successful rationalization of production and the subsequent formation of assembly-line production in the footwear industry has evolved from its deepest post-war economic crisis. People who needed to produce the best quality shoes at a reasonable price demanded changes in the system of production and sales. Rationalization introduced in the manufacture of footwear used modern machines that were scientifically and optimally distributed in manufacturing processes. Proceedings of the race was comprehensively carried out according to the production plans from raw material to the sale of final products in stores. The whole system was characterized by a struggle against all losses and defects, against wasting time, energy and material either of an individual or a team work.
