A 1000-scanning-line display system with high expandability

To realize a single display system for all types of TV image information with different scanning-lines and indicating-channels, a new single-scanning technology with a scan conversion method has been studied by response analysis and by experimental evaluation of the picture quality. This study confirmed that a minimum deterioration of a vertical response and no degradation of the motion of an image can be obtained and that the aliasing and flickering effects caused by the use of a conventional interlaced scanning can be eliminated. These advantages are due to a newly developed scan conversion method which employs a double field-rate and wobbling interlaced scanning within four fields. New multimedia such as the ATV, HDTV, digital TV, and 3D-TV can be displayed in the single display system. Furthermore, in the new platform using this technology, it is easy to interface with the HD and 3D package media and image-sensing media.

Linear Phase Emphasis Networks with Gaussian Function

In this paper, a new approach to the practical design and realization methods of linear phase emphasis network, which is applicable to the FM transmission system, is introduced. The methods are based on employing the Gaussian function expressed as a real exponential function exp(P2) realized by the squared amplitude response of a specific two-port passive LC ladder network. They are also based on a time base conversion technique using digital technology which provides a zero phase network.

Video signal processing technology for wide-band analog channel-divided segment recording VCR

Two video signal processing technologies based on time base processing are described for application to wideband analog recording VCRs (video cassette recorders). The first, a high-speed response time base corrector using burst injection, was analyzed using a linear model, the phase transient response due to the injection signal was examined theoretically. By using this method, a jitter of 5 ns was attained. The other technology is a tracking control method called the index tracking method. In this method, the reproduced synchronizing signal itself is used as the tracking control signal. Therefore, no exclusive tracking control signal should be recorded on the tape. The performance of this method (e.g. stability, speed of response, and controllability) was examined, and the effectiveness and feasibility of this method is evaluated. >
