CONSTRUCTION RESEARCH ON REPAIRING METHOD OF USING PERMEABLE RESIN FOR WOODEN LATH AND PLASTER OF HISTORIC BUILDINGS

Kentaro Oka; Masaki Tamura; Osamu Goto; Yasunori Tsumura

Traditional architecture are subject to a wide variety of damage. However, it is difficult to repair maintaining damaged parts. The authors developed a method of repairing lath and plaster members using acrylic resin. This repair method is applied from the back side of the plaster member, so appearance of the finish material is maintained. In this paper, we applied this repair method to Iwate Bank’s plaster ceiling. As a result, it was found that this method can repair a large area with compact equipment and materials and can adapt to wide variety of damage.

DEVELOPMENT OF REPAIRING METHOD FOR LATH AND PLASTER CEILING

Kentaro Oka; Masaki Tamura; Osamu Goto

In recent years, it is necessary to secure the non-structural material in the event of a disaster. Lathing plaster ceiling of the traditional building is no exception. It is necessary to a healthy degree to properly evaluate respect for the value of such as culture, history, design, technology and authenticity of the traditional building. In this study, we have developed the repair method of existing ceiling by the acrylic resin. This technique does not require traditional skills. Therefore, to improve the health of the building at a low cost, it is possible to protect the history, culture, technology, and safety.

Environmental Impact Evaluation for Transportation of Building Materials into Tokyo District

Masaki Tamura; Kyohei Watanabe; Yoko Nachi

Building materials such as concrete aggregate used in Tokyo district have recently been transported by ship or truck over a long distance with a long transportation time. Therefore, the evaluation of environmental impact from the total amount of building materials and CO2 emissions due to transport of these materials from outside raw material plants to construction sites in the Tokyo district will become an important issue. In this study, the present conditions of transportation loads from building materials for structural bodies such as concrete, its aggregate and so on in the feasiblility study were investigated in consideration of transportation distance (km), total amount of weight (ton) and total number of transportation times (times) from raw material plants to construction sites in the Tokyo district. The environmental impacts of these transportation loads from building materials such as concrete aggregate conveyed into the Tokyo district were evaluated by the indicators of ton–kilometerage (t·km) ...
