The synthesis of 4-substituted isoquinoline derivatives from diethyl(4-isoquinolyl)borane

Minoru Ishikura; I. Oda; Masanao Terashima

Reaction du borane du titre avec R-Br (R=aryl, heteryl, alcenyl) en presence de complexe de Pd0: obtention de R-4 isoquinoleines

Tetrahedron Letters | 1989

The pyridyl cation as a reactive intermediate in the photoreaction of iodopyridines with benzenes

Kazue Ohkura; Koh-ichi Seki; Masanao Terashima; Yuichi Kanaoka

Abstract The electrophilic behavior of the reactive entity in the phtosubstitution of benzenes with 2-iodopyridine was found to be ascribable to the intermediary 2-pyridyl cation, rather than to the electrophilic 2-pyridyl radical.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1992

A novel synthetic use of trialkyl(indol-2-yl)borate for a one-pot synthesis of [a]-annelated indoles

Minoru Ishikura; Masanao Terashima

Abstract A novel one-pot procedure for [ a ]-annelated indole via cyclic trialkyl(indol-2-yl)borate is described.

Heterocycles | 1990

Synthesis of Heteroarylquinolines by the Photolysis of 2-, 3-, and 4-Iodoquinolines

Kazue Ohkura; Koh-ichi Seki; Masanao Terashima; Y. Kanaoka

Photoreaction of 2-, 3-, and 4-iodoquinolines with five membered heterocycles (i.e. 1-methylpyrrole, pyrrole, furan and thiophene) afforded the corresponding n(2-heteroaryl)quinolines (n=2, 3, 4) in appreciable yields.

Heterocycles | 1994

A facile synthesis of N-(2- and 4-pyridyl) indoles

Koh-ichi Seki; Kazue Ohkura; Masanao Terashima; Yuichi Kanaoka

The reactions of the sodium salts of indoles with 2- and 4-fluoropy- ridines afforded the corresponding N-pyridylindoles in good yields, whereas the reaction with 3-fluoropyridine gave no coupling product

Heterocycles | 1992

1-(2-Oxazolinyl) indoles

Masanao Terashima; Yohko Takeda; Hironobu Nishiyama; Minoru Ishikawa; Kazuyuki Kamata

Utilization of 1-(2-oxazolinyl) indoles, prepared from 1-cyano compounds, to the synthesis of 2-substituted indoles was investigated

Boron-Substituted Heteroaromatic Compounds

Masanao Terashima; Minoru Ishikura

Publisher Summary The enormous developments in the chemistry of organoboranes and related compounds during the last two decades have contributed greatly to the recent progress of synthetic organic chemistry. The chemistry of boron-containing heterocycles is diverse. A variety of heteroaromatic compounds having a boron atom in the ring, borazaromatics for example, has been investigated, mostly due to their interesting physical and chemical properties. A number of derivatives of boron have been synthesized and evaluated for the potential use in cancer therapy. In some cases, the reaction of heterocycles with various boron reagents involves their derivatives as crucial reaction intermediates. This chapter deals with the chemistry of heteroaromatic compounds directly substituted on a ring carbon with a boron atom.

A new synthesis of anthramycin via palladium-catalysed carbonylation

Minoru Ishikura; Miwako Mori; Masanao Terashima; Yoshio Ban

A New method for the preparation of pyrrolo [1,4]benzodiazepinone derivatives using palladium-catalysed carbonylation has led to a formal synthesis of anthramycin.

Heterocycles | 1993

An Effecient Synthesis of 2-Aroly-1H-indoles

Masanao Terashima; Yohko Takeda; Akiko Kikuchi

2-Aroyl-1H-indoles were directly obtained by the reaction of 1-(N-aroylcarbamoyl) indoles, prepared from 1-(2-oxazolinyl) indole and aroyl chlorides, with LDA

Heterocycles | 1990

Vinyloxyborane promoted 1,4-addition of triethyl (1-methylindol-2-yl)borate to 2-cycloalkenones

Masanao Terashima; Minoru Ishikura

The conjugate addition reaction of triethyl(1- methyl-indol-2-yl) borate to 2-cycloalkenone could be effected with a catalytic amount of vinyloxyborane
