Photolysis of dodecamethylcyclohexasilane (1) in biacetyl, pentane-2,3-dione, bi-n-butyryl, bi-iso-butyryl, and 3,5-di-t-butyl-o-benzoquinone gave substituted 1,3-dioxa-2-silacyclopent-4-enes, the thermal and chemical properties of which are reported.
