Medikamentöse Therapie und Rezidivprophylaxe bei stabiler Angina pectoris – Konsequente Sekundärprophylaxe plus symptomorientierte Behandlung

Tobias Zeus; Matthias Köstering

The most common presentation of coronary artery disease is angina pectoris. Stable and unstable angina pectoris have to be distinguished because of different diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. The treatment of stable angina pectoris concentrates on a strict secondary prophylaxis with the aim of controling and reducing cardiovascular risk factors on one hand and symptomatic relief on the other hand. Combining these two modes of action leads to improvements concerning morbidity, mortality and quality of life. This article reviews concisely the above mentioned therapeutic concepts based on the updated guidelines and novel scientific results.
