Ablation of Focal AF. Introduction: Several reports have demonstrated that focal atrial fibrillation (AF) may arise from pulmonary veins (PVs). The purpose of this study was to investigate the safety and efficacy of using double multielectrode mapping catheters in ablation of focal AF.

Right Middle Pulmonary Vein and AF. Introduction: Elimination of the ectopic foci from pulmonary veins (PVs) has proved to be a curative therapy for focal atrial fibrillation (AF). However, information about the importance of the right middle PV (RMPV) in initiation of AF and radiofrequency ablation of AF is limited.

Pulmonary Vein Ablation‐Induced Bradycardia. Introduction: Information is lacking about the occurrence of radiation‐related proarrhythmic events during application of radiofrequency (RF) energy at (he pulmonary veins in patients with paroxysmal focal atrial fibrillation. The purpose of this study was to assess the theoretical risk of reflex bradycardia and hypotension response during RF ablation of these regions rich in endocardial nerve terminals.

Antiarrhythmic Drug‐Related Atrial Flutter. introduction: Antiarrhythmic drugs have been reported to promote the conversion of atrial fibrillation to atrial flutter inn patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. However, information about the electrophysiologic mechanism and response to radiofrequency ablation of these drug‐induced atrial flutters is limited. Furthermore, the determinants of the development of persistent atrial flutter in patients treated for atrial fibrillation with antiarrhythmic drugs are still unknown.

RF Catheter Ablation of Clockwise Atrial Flutter. introduction: Although the mechanism and radiofrequency catheter ablation of counterclockwise (typical) atrial flutter have been studied extensively, information about the electrocardiographic and electropbysiologic characteristics and effects of radiofrequency ablation in patients with clockwise atrial flutter is limited.

Dimension and Related Anatomical Distance of Koch's Triangle in Patients with Atrioventricular Nodal Reentrant Tachycardia

Kochs Triangle in AVNRT. Introduction: The dimension of Kochs triangle in patients with AV nodal reentrant tachycardia has not been well described. Understanding the dimension and anatomical distance related to Kochs triangle might be useful in avoiding accidental AV block during ablation of the slow pathway. The purposes of this study were to define the dimension of Kochs triangle and its related anatomical distance and correlate these parameters with the successful ablation sites in patients with AV nodal reentrant tachycardia.

Ming-Hsiung Hsieh; Ching-Tai Tai; Chin-Feng Tsai; Wen-Chung Yu; Shih-Huang Lee; Yung-Kuo Lin; Yu-An Ding; Mau-Song Chang; Shih-Ann Chen

Pulmonary Vein Electrogram in Paroxysmal AF. Introduction: The major source of ectopic beats initiating paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) is from pulmonary veins (PVs). However, the electrogram characteristics of PVs are not well defined.

Temperature Monitoring in Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation of Atrial Flutter Using the Linear Ablation Technique

Zu-Chi Wen; Shih-Ann Chen; Ching-Tai Tai; Chern-En Chiang; Shih-Huang Lee; Yi-Jen Chen; Wen-Chung Yu; Jin-Long Huang; Mau-Song Chang

Temperature Monitoring of Ablation. Introduction: Information about temperature and impedance monitoring during radiofrequency catheter linear ablation of atrial flutter bas not been reported. We proposed that a radiofrequency catheter ablation system using a closed‐loop temperature control model could decrease the incidence of coagulum formation and shorten the radiation exposure and procedure times compared with those found in a power control model.
