Abstract We describe a new ichneumonid species of the genus Exochus (Exochus protuberans Kolarov & Çoruh, sp. n.) and give data for 39 species of Metopiinae from Turkey, of which 25 are new to the Turkish fauna. We provide a check list for Turkish Metopiinae and a zoogeographic characterisation for each species.

Three stations selected for altitude and habitat types within the Kasnak Oak Forest Nature Reserve (Isparta, Turkey) were studied comparatively for species composition, richness and abundance of the Hymenoptera families Ampulicidae, Crabronidae, and Sphecidae. A total of 56 species was recorded, 1 from the family Ampulicidae, 43 from the family Crabronidae and 12 from the family Sphecidae. 8 species are new records for Turkey.

ABSTRACT: n A new Phaenolobus species from Turkey is described and figured. This species is close to Phaenolobus areolator Constantineanu and Constantineanu (1968), and it is distinguished by its smaller body, head roundly narrowed behind, smaller number of flagellomeres, absence of ramulus on discocubital vein, longer subgenital plate and ovipositor sheath, black labrum and coloration of the body. A key for Western Palaearctic Phaenolobus species is given. A check list for Turkish Acaenitinae is added.

Agrothereutes hospes (Tschek.) (Ichneumonidae, Cryptinae), a solitary ectoparasitoid, is redescribed. Details of tyloids on male flagellum are presented and discussed. Investigations on the development of the parasitoid on wax moth host Galleria mellonella (L.) (Lepidoptera) were made. Longevity of A. hospes females is between 10xa0days and 40xa0days, while in males it is 7–20xa0days. The egg productivity and the hatching of eggs were in maximum between 6xa0days and 15xa0days. The maximal pupae ratio was between 1xa0days and 15xa0days, and average of sex ratio was 2:1.

ABSTRACT: Aptesis cavigena sp. nov. from Turkey is described and figured. It is distinguished from the similar Aptesis nigritula Thomson (1885) by its enormous oral carina, widened lower part of occipital carina, excavated area between lower part of the malar space, oral and occipital carina, entirely black eye orbit, and larger size of the body.

A new cave-dwelling species of the poorly defined genus Mesoiulus Berlese, 1886, M. taurus sp. nov., is described from the Zindan Cave, Isparta, Western Taurides, Turkey. A brief discussion of the relationship between M. taurus sp. nov. and the most similar species (M. ciliciensis Strasser, 1975) is presented, as well as a map showing the distribution of the genus Mesoiulus in Turkey.
