Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences | 1987

(+)-Curcuphenol and dehydrocurcuphenol, novel sesquiterpenes which inhibit H,K-ATPase, from a marine sponge Epipolasis sp.

Nobuhiro Fusetani; Michihiro Sugano; Shigeki Matsunaga; Kanehisa Hashimoto

Two H, K-ATPase inhibitors and an inactive related compound have been isolated from a marine spongeEpipolasis sp. They are aromatic sesquiterpene α-curcumenes

Tetrahedron Letters | 1987

H,K-ATPase inhibitors from the marine sponge siphonochalina truncata: Absolute configuration of siphonodiol and two related metabolites☆

Nobuhiro Fusetani; Michihiro Sugano; Shigeki Matsunaga; Kanehisa Hashimoto

Abstract Siphonodiol and two related metabolites were isolated from the marine sponge Siphonochalina truncata as H,K-ATPase inhibitors, and their structures including absolute configuration were determined by spectroscopic methods.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1999

Sinulamide : an H, K-ATPase inhibitor from a soft coral Sinularia sp.

Noriko Sata; Michihiro Sugano; Shigeki Matsunaga; Nobuhiro Fusetani

Sinulamide (1), a new tetraprenylated spermine derivative, has been isolated from a soft coral Sinularia sp. as an H,K-ATPase inhibitor. The structure was assigned on the basis of spectroscopic data and confirmed by a total synthesis.

Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences | 1987

Isolation of a hexaprenylhydroquinone sulfate from the marine sponge Dysidea sp. as an H,K-ATPase inhibitor

Nobuhiro Fusetani; Michihiro Sugano; Shigeki Matsunaga; Kanehisa Hashimoto; H. Shikama; A. Ohta; H. Nagano

A hexaprenylhydroquinone sulfate has been isolated as an H, K-ATPase inhibitor from a marine spongeDysidea sp. It also inhibited phospholipase A2 as well as secretion of gastric acid in rats.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1990

Aldose reductase inhibitors from the red alga, asparagopsis taxiformis.

Michihiro Sugano; Aiya Sato; Hidemi Nagak; Shinji Yoshiok; Tomoko Shiraki; Hiroyoshi Horikoshi

Separation of an extract of the red alga Asparagopsis taxiformis guided by the inhibition of bovine lens aldose reductase gave pentabromopropen-2-yl tribromo-(1a) and dibromoacetate (1b), whose structures were determined by spectral data and chemical synthesis.

Journal of the American Chemical Society | 1991
