This paper describes one implementation of adaptive streaming over HTTP for Android based DTV platform. We have proposed a software solution that enables full adaptive streaming over HTTP protocol. The proposition includes two key standards to be implemented: HTTP Live Streaming and MPEG DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP). The focus of this paper is on implementation of modular architecture that enables adaptive streaming using basic adaptation algorithms leaving a simple interface for integration of advanced adaptation algorithms.

This paper presents our work and experience in designing, implementing and integrating HbbTV 1.5 additions. We extended existing HbbTV software stack which provides functionalities required by HbbTV 1.1 standard. Key additions that HbbTV 1.5 standard brings are EIT schedule (full 7-day EPGs), HTTP adaptive streaming based on the MPEG DASH specification and DASH delivered content protection with DRM technologies. This paper focuses on the following two additions: EIT schedule and MPEG DASH. Third addition is not mandatory by the HbbTV 1.5 and is left for further work.

This paper describes the realization of the integration of MPEG-DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) software stack into the Android platform. MPEG-DASH protocol includes download of multimedia content, whether it is video on demand or live program. Basic characteristic of a MPEG-DASH protocol is flexibility to network conditions, which means changing the quality of the audio and/or video content depending on the current network speed. The main goal that has been achieved through this approach is platform independent program. Application has been tested on number of links which is provided by MPEG-DASH organization. Achieved results are over 90% successfully played links from MPEG-DASH server including A/V synchronization.

This paper presents our experience in porting and integration of functionality required by the HbbTV standard on Android based DTV platform. HbbTV functionality was originally implemented on the Linux operating system, and this paper presents all the necessary modifications made to the HbbTV software stack, modification made to the Android operating system and extension of existing DTV functionality on Android OS.

This paper presents our experience in porting HbbTV functionality for DTV devices based on Android operating system. Functionallity required by HbbTV standard was originally implemented on the Linux operating system and this paper describes the required adjustments in the current implementation of HbbTV stack and adjustments in Android operating system and the expansion of existing DTV support for Android operating system.

In this paper, the process of lightweight IP stack implementation into an Aurix platform with ERIKA RTOS system has been shown. The system is composed of several hardware and software components and the whole system integration process is explained, as well as the configuration of all its components. In order to validate the proposed implementation, the application with UDP echo server functionality was designed and implemented. Afterward, several tests were done, providing the insight into the system reliability and performance.

Primary goals of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are increased safety and situations with no stress for all traffic participants. Parking safety is improved by presenting real-time vehicle environment to the driver (surround view, birds eye view). Birds eye view is 3D camera and parking sensors system which assist driver with parking. It covers all angles and alerts the driver about obstacles, thus minimizing possibility of traffic accidents. This paper presents one portable informational birds eye view system.

In industry there are several application platforms which are available for in-vehicle infotainment units (IVI), such as OEM and customer solutions. There is still no unified way for application execution/management and for access to vehicle data. This paper presents application environment design for HTML/JavaScript applications in the IVI systems considering application switching and proposes application programming interface based on JavaScript that enables access to vehicle bus data from a standard web browser in a uniform way.

Modern vehicle consists of an infotainment system including a multi-screen environment. These screens require events from various HMI devices. The problem is how to dispatch these events to different screens. This paper describes implementation of event dispatching mechanism in vehicle application environment. The goal is to implement a uniform event dispatching mechanism from devices to applications.
