Risk factors for suicide in bipolar disorder: a systematic review.

BACKGROUNDnBipolar disorder confers the highest risk of suicide among major psychological disorders. The risk factors associated with bipolar disorder and suicide exist and are relevant to clinicians and researchers.nnnOBJECTIVEnThe aim of the present study was to conduct a systematic review of articles regarding the suicide risk factors in bipolar disorder.nnnMETHODSnA systematic review of articles on suicide risk factors in bipolar disorder, published from January 1, 2010 to April 05, 2014, on SCOPUS and PUBMED databases was carried out. Search terms were Suicide (medical subject headings [MeSH]), Risk factors (MeSH), and Bipolar (keyword). Of the 220 retrieved studies, 42 met the eligibility criteria.nnnRESULTSnBipolar disorder is associated with an increased rate death by suicide which contributes to overall mortality rates. Studies covered a wide range of aspects regarding suicide risk factors in bipolar disorder, such as risk factors associated to Sociodemographic conditions, Biological characteristics, Drugs Relationships, Psychological Factors, Genetic Compound, Religious and Spirituals conditions. Recent scientific literature regarding the suicide risk factors in bipolar disorder converge to, directly or indirectly, highlight the negative impacts of risk factors to the affected population quality of life.nnnCONCLUSIONnThis review demonstrated that Bipolar disorders commonly leads to other psychiatric disorders and co-morbidities involving risk of suicide. Thus the risk factors are relevant to have a better diagnosis and prognosis of BD cases involving risk of suicide.

Narrative interviews: an important resource in qualitative research

Objetivo Este estudio es un aporte metodologico en que se explica y destaca el alcance y la fertilidad de la entrevista narrativa en la investigacion cualitativa. Metodo Describir el metodo de la narrativa en la investigacion cualitativa. Resultados El metodo de investigacion cualitativa se caracteriza por abordar las cuestiones relacionadas con las singularidades del campo y de las personas encuestadas, siendo las entrevistas narrativas un metodo potente para uso de los investigadores que toman posesion de ella. Permiten que la profundizacion de la investigacion, la combinacion de historias de vida con los contextos socio-historicos e la comprension de los sentidos que producen cambios en las creencias y valores que motivan y justifican las acciones de los posibles informantes. Conclusion El uso de la narrativa se presenta un recurso de investigacion ventajosa en la investigacion cualitativa, la narrativa es una forma tradicional de comunicacion cuyo objetivo es servir contenido a partir de la que se pueden transmitir las experiencias subjetivas.Objetives This methodological study explain and emphasize the extent and fertility of the narrative interview in qualitative research. Methods To describe the narrative method within the qualitative research. Results The qualitative research method is characterized by addressing issues related to the singularities of the field and individuals investigated, being the narrative interviews a powerful method for use by researchers who aggregate it. They allow the deepening of research, the combination of life stories with socio-historical contexts, making the understanding of the senses that produce changes in the beliefs and values that motivate and justify the actions of possible informants. Conclusion The use of narrative is an advantageous investigative resource in qualitative research, in which the narrative is a traditional form of communication whose purpose is to serve content from which the subjective experiences can be transmitted.

Vivências de trabalhadores de Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Infantojuvenil: organização social de saúde e prefeitura

The objective of this paper was to describe and analyze the context of trajectories of workers of Psychosocial Care Centers for Children and Adolescents (CAPSis) with the insertion, practice and motivation of workers in this fieldwork. Comparing the context of trajectories of employees according to the managerial nature: Social Health Organization (OSS) and city hall. Narratives-interviews were conducted with 8 workers from 2 Psychosocial Care Centers for Children and Adolescents (one managed by the City and other by Social Health Organizations), Sao Paulo City, Brazil. The narratives interviews were transcribed and analyzed from Shutze method. The Theoretical Framework was built from different authors and Psychiatric Reform principles. There are important differences between workers of 2 Psychosocial Care Centers for Children and Adolescents regarding professional profile, motivations, type of training and meanings attributed to work. CUIDADOS ALIMENTARES NAS DOENÇAS INFLAMATÓRIAS INTESTINAIS EM ADOLESCENTES: UMA REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA

O presente estudo propos-se a uma revisao sistematica da literatura sobre Cuidados Alimentares nas Doencas Inflamatorias intestinais em adolescentes, no ultimo decenio (2002-2012). envolveu 11 artigos, selecionados de maneira aleatoria nas bases de dados Scielo e PubMed, utilizando os descritores: doenca de Crohn, proctocolite, enteropatias inflamatorias, avaliacao nutricional. De uma maneira geral, os resultadois foram dispostos em 5 categorias de assuntos tratados nos artigos selecionados: epidemiologia, tratamento, assist~encia nutricional, complicacoes e, questoes socioemocionais implicadas. Concluiu-se que, e muito escassa a literatura sobre esta tematica especifica, na faixa etaria adolescente. Tambem que e muito importante que, os medicos e profissionais de saude, possam dispensar um cuidado maior a pacientes com esse tipo de enfermidade, principalmente quando este for adolescente, possibilitando-lhes o acesso a um tratamento adequado e condizente com sua enfermidade, em especial, no inicio do tratamento, como determinante na resolucao do problema, minimizando possiveis implicacoes mais serias.

Biblioterapia com Crianças com Câncer

Introducao: Relato de experiencia do projeto de extensao “Biblioterapia com criancas com câncer, a leitura como atividade ludica”, realizado pelo Curso de Biblioteconomia, da Universidade Federal do Ceara – UFC / Campus Cariri.Objetivo: Humanizar o tratamento das criancas hospitalizadas, realizando a leitura de historias com propositos terapeuticos.Metodologia: Leitura em grupo e individual, a contacao de historias, dramatizacao e oficinas de desenho.Resultados: A biblioterapia conduz a pacificacao das emocoes, a desfocalizacao do problema de saude enfrentado, reforcado pelas qualidades esteticas oferecidas pela literatura. A leitura apazigua as emocoes resultantes da doenca e conduzem a estados de espiritos suscetiveis ao tratamento.Conclusoes: Os cursos de graduacao em Biblioteconomia estao percebendo nesta area o incentivo a novos processos de aprendizagens e competencias, atraves dos indicadores saude-doenca na complementaridade necessaria para trazer a tona a humanizacao e a etica, em meio as circunstâncias vivenciadas no ambiente hospitalar.
