従来測定の行われていなかった, メタアクリル酸メチル-スチレン, 酢酸ビニル-メタアクリル酸メチルおよびスチレン-酢酸ビニルの3種類の共重合系の共重合熱をサーミスター法により測定して, 共重合熱に関するAlfreyの理論式との比較を試みた。その結果, 各単量体の反応性の比の違いの著しくないメタアクリル酸メチル-スチレン系ではAlfrey式により実験結果を説明することができた。一方反応性の比の違いの大きい他の二つの共重合系ではAlfrey式を用いなくても, 各単量体の単独重合熱および析出する共重合体中の各単量体のmo1分率より共重合熱を加成的に算出できることがわかった。
