Yeongil Kwon; Eun-Ju Kim; Nam-Yong Lee

Over the last few decades, software reuse has been stressed as a key factor for the developers to improve the productivity and the quality of information systems. However, some drawbacks of a vendor-dependent proprietary framework from major SI companies can also be formed in e-Government systems. This paper is differentiated from other prior studies in that it involves field experimental research to find out key managerial factors on the reusable component in the public sector. The result of this paper shows that the reuse of common components has a relatively high correlation on the type of agencies, project period and the size of agencies, budget volume and business domain affects the reuse without any distinction. In addition, this paper shows the key factors on the managerial perspective, with more future research needed for the technical and political factors to verify reuse factors.

Due to indiscriminately received spam messages on information society, spam messages cause damages not only to person but also to our community. Nowadays a lot of spam fil tering techniques, such as blocking characters, are studied actively. Most of these studies are content-based spam filtering technologies through machine learning.. Because of a spam message transmission techniques are being dev eloped, spammers have to send spam messages using term spamming techniques. Spam messages tend to include n umber of nouns, using repeated words and inserting special characters between words in a sentence. In this paper, considering three features, SPSS statistical program were used in parameterization and we derive the equation. And t hen, based on this equation we measured the performance of classification of spam messages. The study compa red with previous studies FP-rate in terms of further minimizing the cost of product was confirmed to show an excelle nt performance.

The Design of a Complex Event Model for Effective Service Monitoring in Enterprise Systems

Deuk-Kyu Kum; Nam-Yong Lee

In recent competitive business environment each enterprise has to be agile and flexible. For these purposes run-time monitoring of services provided by an enterprise and early decision making through this becomes core competition of the enterprise. In addition, in order to process various innumerable events which are generated on enterprise systems techniques which make filtering of meaningful data are needed. However, the existing study related with this is nothing but discovering of service faults by monitoring depending upon API of BPEL engine or middleware, or is nothing but processing of simple events based on low-level events. Accordingly, there would be limitations to provide useful business information. In this paper, through situation detection an extended complex event model is presented, which is possible to provide more valuable and useful business information. Concretely, first of all an event processing architecture in an enterprise system is proposed, and event meta-model which is suitable to the proposed architecture is going to be defined. Based on the defined meta-model, It is presented that syntax and semantics of constructs in our event processing language including various and progressive event operators, complex event pattern, key, etc. In addition, an event context mechanism is proposed to analyze more delicate events. Finally, through application studies application possibility of this study would be shown and merits of this event model would be present through comparison with other event model.

Process Performance Measurement Model Based on Event for an efficient Decision-Making

Jae-Won Park; Jae-Hyun Choi; Poong-Youn Cho; Nam-Yong Lee

Information systems nowadays are heterogeneous and distributed which integrate the enterprise information by processes. They are also very complex, because they are linked together by processes. It aims to integrate the systems so that these systems work as one system. A process is a framework which contains all of the business activities in an enterprise, and has a lot of information which is needed for measuring performance. A process consists of activities, and an activity contains events which can be considered information sources. In most cases, it is very valuable to determine if a process is meaningful, but it is difficult because of the complexity in measuring performance, and also because finding relationships between business factors and events is not a simple problem. So it would reduce operation cost and allow efficient process execution if I could evaluate the process before it ends. In this paper we propose an event based process measurement model. First, we propose the concept of process performance measurement, and a model for selecting process and activity indexes from the events which are collected from information systems. Second, we propose at methodologies and data schema that can store and manage the selected process indexes, the mapping methods between indexes and events. Finally, we propose a process Performance measurement model using the collected events which gives users a valuable managerial information.

Jae-Won Park; Jae-Hyun Choi; Jae-Sung Lee; Nam-Yong Lee

The Enterprise Service Bus based on Java Business Integration is an web service standard and one of the methods for implementing distribution channels of Service Oriented Architecture. Consisting of open source group, extensive venders and users, the ESB based JBI has the problems of ineffectiveness as well as advantages of extensibility of service plug-in. That is, in case users need to use Service plug-in, manual connection of packaging process and sequential distribution method is required. This study, therefore, proposes as a way of trouble-shooting the user-oriented component deployment tool which can manage entire process for deploying The ESB middleware platform to Service unit. At the same time, this study elicited the requirements based on issues of JBI-based ESB and has developed the modeling property, packaging, distribution and evaluation thru Schema analysis of JBI-compatible component. Using the deployment tool this study proposed, users will be able to perform and manage the whole deploying process without additional manual work for connecting component. Not only it is expected that interface based on Graphic User Interface provide usability and convenience but they can also minimize the errors rate through component and route validity verification function provided in deployment tool.

JARSIO:Java Remote Service Invocation for OSGI Frameworkto Enhance Inter-Operations of Services on OSGi

Jae-Hyun Choi; Jae-Won Park; Nam-Yong Lee

Recently, many researches focus on Ubiquitous Network which comprised various networks for effective service provision. In particular, OSGi proposed by OSGi Alliance is preferred for core infrastructure to establish Ubiquitous Network as it supports integration and inter-operation among various service environments, and dynamic configuration of services. However, OSGi is limited to be used only within local service framework, since OSGi specification does not have any considerations for inter-operations between internal and external services. Thus, in this paper we propose JARSIO(JAva Remote Service Invocation for OSGi) framework which enables the inter-operations of dynamic internal OSGi services and other external services. The proposed framework is based on the TCP/IP protocol, and provides effective mechanisms for the inter-operations of the services.
