Rapid changes in the urban environment as a results of technological progress require new approaches to the development of transport infrastructure, which will increase the performance of the transport system, improve the quality of its operation and safety. It is necessary to maintain the quality of life, business and economical stability of the city. However, the development of the transport system or its radical transformation is a large-scale investment, which is not always easy to decide, especially in the face of uncertainty: lack of knowledge about the process and fluctuations in the economy. Deficient of transport services aspects study will inevitably lead to losses of life quality. Thereby the development of methods for optimizing the route network of public transport, which will link the demand and supply of transport services, is an urgent task. In this paper, we propose a new approach to the construction and refinement of the ontological model of knowledge representation about the city transport system using cognitive modeling.

Method GAND: Multi-criteria Analysis for Choice the Most Preferable Geodata-Based Transport Network

Danila Parygin; Alexey Golubev; Natalia Sadovnikova; Maxim Shcherbakov

The paper has deal with the problem of public transport network design. Collected data about people’s travelling in urban area opens up new opportunities related to the design of novel solutions for analysing real needs of people. The issue is how to make a rational choice of preferable PTN according to: (i) a set of selected quality criteria; (ii) decision makers preferences. In the paper we propose a multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) method adopted for choice of PTN obtained automatically based on geospatial data analysis. The evaluation criteria of the PTN were developed for the particular task: (i) degree of transport demand satisfaction, (ii) coefficient of non-straightness, and (iii) transport network density. This technique was tested on the routes constructed by the expert, as well as on the automatically generated route. The results suggested by the expert and design in automation mode is close to each other in terms of efficiency. It lead to conclusion that data-driven approaches migh be used for urban planning and monitoring with minimal human intervention.

Modern approaches to work with big data on urban processes are discussed in the paper, including Data-Driven City and Geoinformation systems (GIS). Analysis of GIS allowed to select their types according to the scope of application and the concept of analytical problems solved by the user. A new approach to support the urban processes management based on geodata analysis is proposed in this study. The concept of the system being developed is based on the idea of combining the functions of GIS and decision support system on the basis of an integrated database. The integration process is based on the ETL process. Typical infrastructure facilities, their characteristics, and geo-referencing become the basis of the geo-analytical system. The method of infographic presentation on an interactive map of data of urban infrastructure typical facilities monitoring at different stages of complex systems research is proposed. The architecture of the created information and analytical platform described. The work of platform prototype considered on an example of information support of processes related to the road repair works in the city.

View-Dependent Level of Detail for Real-Time Rendering of Large Isosurfaces

Vyacheslav Shakaev; Natalia Sadovnikova; Danila Parygin

Isosurface extraction is a widely used method for interactive visualization of volumetric scalar data sets in many scientific, engineering and entertainment applications. When visualizing large isosurfaces, interactive frame rates are enabled by view-dependent level-of-detail rendering techniques. However, these techniques usually require lengthy pre-processing and thus are unsuitable for visualizing procedurally-generated or dynamic data. In this paper, we present an approach for real-time rendering of isosurfaces with the view-dependent level of detail. It is based on a pointerless octree for low-overhead hierarchy management and a modified Dual Contouring algorithm with geomorphing to avoid costly stitching and abrupt level-of-detail transitions at run-time. We demonstrate that our method can render large procedurally-generated surfaces without any precomputation. We show that our algorithm can approximate sharp features, which is an important requirement for many CAD/CAM/CAE applications.

Ontology-based urban transport system modelling for dynamic goal setting & decision making

Natalia Sadovnikova; Anna Matohina; Olga Shabalina; Daria Shirmanova; Anastasia Romanova

In this paper a decision support system for dynamic goal setting management in complex social systems is described. Decision making for supporting the achievement of objectives is built on production rules and case-based reasoning. An approach to decision support for the development of urban transport system is based on the ontological model. Examples of implementation of requests presented.
