Development of Pre-Service Physics Teachers' Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) throughout Their Initial Training.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the development of pre-service physics teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) on the subject of electricity and magnetism after their completion of physics and mathematics courses. A descriptive longitudinal development research was carried out with 13 pre-service teachers (PTs) who completed their subject matter education by the end of the fall term of 2007–2008 academic years. Six of those PTs were selected for further studies on the development of PCK throughout the following three terms. A PCK test, observations, lesson plans and informal interviews were used as data collection instruments. Results showed declines in subject matter knowledge, improvements in representation varieties, and changes in orientations during field-based experience and increases in knowledge of learner difficulties. Past experience, field-based experience, teacher training, written materials, mentor teachers, school context and the nature of subject matter were found as factors affecting the PCK development.

Kısa Film Tasarımlarında Teknolojik ve Pedagojik Özelliklerin İncelenmesi

Yeni ogretim programlarinin ozelliklerine uygun teknoloji destekli ortamlarin olusturulmasi her gecen gun daha da onem kazanmaktadir. Bu yonuyle, hizmet oncesi ogretmen egitiminde bilgiyi uretmeyi model alan uygulamali derslerin basinda Ogretim Teknolojileri ve Materyal Tasarimi (OTvMT) dersi gelmektedir. Bu ders kapsamindaki ogretim etkinliklerinden biri de ogretmen adaylarinin egitici kisa film hazirlama veya kullanma etkinlikleridir. Milli Egitim Bakanligi (MEB), Egitim Bilisim Agi (EBA) araciligiyla egitici kisa film tasarimlarini tesvik etmektedir. Bu tur etkinlikler ile ogretmen adaylarinin sahip olduklari teknolojik bilgileri ile pedagojik bilgilerini ogretilecek icerik bilgisi cercevesinde butunlestirmeleri hedeflenmektedir. Bu calisma, okul oncesi ogretmen adaylarinin kisa film tasarimlarindaki senaryolarinin teknik ve pedagojik ozelliklerinin incelenmesini icermektedir. KTU Fatih Egitim Fakultesi Okul Oncesi Ogretmenligi programindaki ogretmen adaylari ile yurutulen arastirmada, dort kisilik gruplardan MEB Okul Oncesi Egitim Programi (2013) kapsamindaki gelisim alanlari ve kazanimlardan uygun olanlarina yonelik kisa sureli film hazirlamalari istenmistir. Hazirlanan egitsel icerikli filmlerden olcut ornekleme yoluyla secilen 5 tane film; teknik beceriler, pedagojik acidan kazanima ve cocugun gelisimine uygunluk, sunum cesitliligi ile ogrenen bilgisi (on bilgileri ve ogrenme gucluklerini fark ettirici ozellikleri) yonuyle incelenmistir. Bulgular, bu tur senaryolastirmalarda teknik beceri acisindan film hazirlama becerilerinin yaninda, kisa filmlerin iceriklerinin pedagojik acidan kazanim gostergeleri ile gelisim alanlarina uygun olduguna isaret etmektedir. Kisa film iceriklerinde okul oncesi egitim acisindan sunum cesitliligi saglanmakla birlikte, on bilgilerin ozelligini fark ettirici uygulamalara yeterince yer verilmedigi gorulmustur.
