A proposal of personal information trading platform (PIT): A fair trading between personal information and incentives

Personal information is a valuable asset for service providers. They need personal information for several reasons such as target advertising and personalization. Many methods are used to collect personal information from consumers. However, sometimes more personal information than is needed is collected. Since consumers are now more concerned about their privacy, service providers are finding it a lot more difficult to collect consumers personal information, which results in less benefit for both consumers and service providers. In this study, we propose a new personal information trading platform that provides benefit to both service providers and consumers. We present the platform design, functions and benefits, a proposed trading model, and the balanced personal information tradeoff model, which is used to measure the balance between the incentive to the service provider and the personal information of the consumer.

Tradeoff Between the Price of Distributing aźDatabase and Its Collusion Resistance Based onźConcatenated Codes

The purchasing of customer databases, which is becoming more and more common, has led to a big problem: the use of purchased databases to mount a collusion attack, which is when purchasers of a database illegally combine their versions of it in order to de-anonymize the private information it contains. However, the purchasing of customer database is only available in the black market. In this paper, we first investigated the relationship between the price of distributing a database and its collusion resistance. A fingerprint is embedded in database so that illegal distributors can be identified. The fingerprints are constructed on the basic of concatenated codes. After the fingerprint is embedded, the price of distributing the database and its collusion resistance are modelled as decreasing functions. The less expensive the database is, the less collusion resistance the database owner deals with. There are upper and lower bounds for the collusion capabilities. To the best of our knowledge, this scheme is unique in that the tradeoff between the price of distributing a database and its collusion resistance is based on a mathematical model. Second, we propose a guideline to sell customer database legally with profit and risk evaluation.

ICT Risk Rating of e-commerce

Along with the introduction and widespread acceptance of social media, the reliability of the Internet society has been threatened in various ways. In the information world with characteristics of anonymity, users with insufficient self-defense knowledge are being targeted by criminal activities on the Internet, such as billing fraud and phishing. To help such users, we designed Web site risk evaluation (Risk Rating) system where the reliability evaluation of EC site is presented to the user in the form of a comprehensible score1. We also conducted the verification experiment to evaluate the reliability of EC Web site using the system and prove that this method was effective for a reliability evaluation.
