Hospital Information System (HIS) is important to healthcare sector especially in public hospitals as they need to serve the public with high-quality healthcare treatments. HIS helps to improve patients care services. Thus, the Malaysian Government has introduced three (3) categories of HIS namely Total Hospital Information System (THIS), Intermediate Hospital Information System (IHIS), and Basic Hospital Information System (BHIS) among Malaysian public hospitals. However, only 15.2% of the Malaysian public hospitals are implementing the system. Moreover, there is limited number of empirical studies on HIS implementation in Malaysia. Thus, this paper aims to investigate issues and challenges in HIS implementation for each category of HIS by using in-depth interviews. Nine participants were involved in the interviews. The interview data were transcribed verbatim and analysed based on Content and Thematic Analysis using NVivo software. The results showed that different category of HIS faced different issues and challenges.

This paper identifies the trends in existing literatures on management system standards such as Quality (Q), Environmental (E), Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), and Energy (En) Management System (MS). Literatures related to these management system standards (MSSs) and its integrations published between year 1980 to 2012 have been critically analyzed. It provides a general overview of the Integrated Management System (IMS) implementation and the composition of MSSs in developing IMS in various organizations. Based on the analysis, it is firm that the integration of these four (4) MSSs has not been well established. Despite that, the recurring themes of the literatures related to IMS are mainly, model for implementation, strategies and guidelines for implementation, benefits of implementation, barriers/ problems of implementation, audit of IMS, Critical Success Factors for implementing IMS and IMS Audits.

Today, the usage of information technology (IT) in healthcare sector including public hospitals has become more widespread. IT tools such as Electronic Medical Records (EMR) have been found to improve the efficiency of hospital services especially in terms of patient data management. However, only several public hospitals in Malaysia are using the EMR system to manage their filing system. Therefore, this paper discusses the issues that arise in adopting the EMR among public hospitals, and proposes a framework of EMR adoption for Malaysias public hospitals. In this paper, the EMR system is discussed in general. Theories related to technology adoption are also discussed in general. Moreover, issues concerning the adoption of EMR system in previous studies are also discussed. These issues include cost-related issues, technology-related issues, knowledge-related issues, human-related issue, and legal issues. These issues may influence the adoption of EMR to improve healthcare quality service. Consequently, EMR Adoption Model for public hospitals is proposed. The framework model might provide a guideline to Malaysias public hospitals to adopt and use the EMR system successfully while simultaneously reducing the present problems of the adoption.

Being resource-driven industry, success and failure of construction projects highly depend on resources. As construction industry is now-a-days facing major problem of cost overrun worldwide, this can be contributed by construction resource issues. Hence, this study aimed to assess impact of construction resource on project cost overrun. Structured questionnaire survey was carried out to understand the perception of construction practitioners. A total of 106 samples were collected. Partial Least Square (PLS) of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach regarded as the graphical equivalent of a mathematical representation of relationship between dependant variable to explanatory variable was adopted for data analysis, as common methods of data analyze does not give insight of underlying relationships between various factors. In analyzing cause-effect relationships, PLS-SEM is a dominant approach to establish rigor in complex models. Smart PLS 2.0 software was used to test the relationship between resources and cost overrun. The developed structural model indicates that relationship between resource and cost overrun was satisfactory by having substantial explaining power (GoF=0.529) and 40% of the cost overrun was influenced with resources. The most significant resource was construction material. Hence, effective material planning and management is vital to improve potential construction cost overrun.

This research is on a study of the influence of eco-friendly attitudes on the intention of customers from a certified green hotel. The specific dimension of attitudes toward green behavior that gives strong influence on customers eco-friendly intention has been identified by using the attitudes toward green behavior (ATGB) model. This is a quantitative research. It adopted a case study as the research strategy. A certified green hotel that has been chosen was located in Selangor. 105 questionnaires have been distributed among the customers from this green hotel. The findings of multiple regression method indicate that the green hotel customers eco-friendly attitudes of ATGB model are significantly associated with their expressed eco-friendly intentions to visit and pay more for a green hotel. This research is expected to raise attention on the ATGB model dimensions to be focused more rigorously by the hotel management. Consequently, customer retention strategies can be focused on.

Supply chain agility become a critical strategic for business communities to gain the superior competitive advantage in the volatile and turbulent market. Previous studies on supply chain agility focus to the industries such as electrical and electronics industries. The limited study particularly in the context of supply chain agility in Malaysia motivates the study to further investigate the practices. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between information technology and operational competencies towards supply chain agility in firm. Data collection instrument used was a questionnaire which administrated to a total sample size of 60 executive officers, directors, CEO, managers and senior staff from 15 textiles and apparel companies from southern Malaysia. The respond rate is 63.3% which is only 38 respondents were responded to the survey. Sample selection was based on purposively sampling. The data were analysed by using mean, standard deviation and correlation between independent and dependent variables. The analyses involved statistical methods such as reliability, normality and nonparametric correlation. The finding showed that information technology and operational competencies have a positive relationship with supply chain agility respectively.

Patient satisfaction is imperative in every healthcare organization. Service quality is the utmost important aspect that yields patient satisfaction in hospitals. Since Information Technology (IT) is widely used in hospitals, its applications can give rise to different issues related to patient satisfaction. This is because patient satisfaction derived from utilizing health information exchange systems (HIEs) depends on the service quality of the systems. This paper presents a systematic review of the impacts of service quality of Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) on patient satisfaction. Five databases, namely Scopus, IEEE, Proquest, Emerald and Science Direct were accessed to search for relevant studies. In total, 714 studies met the inclusion criteria. The result shows that five factors at the healthcare organizations that adopted HIEs have impacts on patient satisfaction: Tangibility, Reliability, Assistance, Safety and Empathy.

Product innovation refers to new products development and improvement of existing products. The importance of product innovation proliferated as the market grows and becomes more diversified. Among SMEs, product innovation is one of the most critical determinants for their survival, growth, and competitiveness. Nonetheless, product innovation among SMEs is still low, owning to various issues and challenges. This study attempts to focus the effect of transformational leadership and organizational culture on product innovation among 36 SMEs in Johor. A SEM-PLS was used to validate the measurement model and develop the path modeling among variables studied. It is found that both transformational leadership and organizational culture are significantly related to product innovation. This finding substantiates previous findings and lends supports to the important roles of both constructs in SME’s development.
