Interest in collaboration is a natural outgrowth of the trend in education towards active learning. Many researchers have found advantages of collaborative learning; it improves academic performance, promotes soft skills development (communication, collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills) and increases satisfaction in the learning experience. However, several studies have reported the opposite. Therefore, this paper aims to determine the factors to be considered in creating an effective online collaborative learning environment. In order to achieve the aims, this study was conducted qualitatively in the form of a document review. The results indicate three main factors that affect the effectiveness of online collaborative learning environments such as learning environment, learning design and learning interaction. An online learning interaction model is also proposed according to the results. This study will continue to determine the elements that can clarify all the factors which have been identified in this study.

This paper addresses about designing virtual laboratory for chemistry subject, acid, base and salt (VLab-CHEM) in three dimensions (3D). Discussion involved on theoretical framework modelling where it divided into two parts that is analysis, design, development and evaluation. For the second objective, researcher was view on constructivism- cognitivism - contextual lifecycle model where it used for 3D VLab-CHEM. This model defined about education media, how to measure content, authoring program and systematic instructional design. For the third objective, researcher also explained the 3D laboratory architecture and story board for the early state of development VLab-CHEM. Others objective are defining Instructional Design (ID) model (VLab-CHEM ) where it include 3D virtual laboratory modules. ID model focused on learning and teaching aspects and science education, education process and by using multimedia interactive module. While designing the development of VLab-CHEM, researcher has used approach in learning theory such as constructivism-cognitivism-contextual. Concept through learning-by-doing, contextual education, simulation, 3D animation and real time animation to create 3D virtual based on reality, added in the VLab-CHEM.

Getting a job after completing college is always a challenge for students; even though they acquired an excellent academic skill. Therefore, the role f Higher Education Institutions is to provide training to the students with the soft skills in accordance with the demands of the job. Collaborative learning has been well known in the educational arena with proven results in terms of developing soft skills. This study aims to explore the need of incorporating Moodle with Social Network Sites to facilitate online collaborative learning. In order to obtain data for this preliminary study, two sets of questionnaire were personally distributed to 356 diploma students and 145 lecturers from Politeknik Ibrahim Sultan, Politeknik Merlimau, Politeknik Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Politeknik Kota Kinabalu and Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah. All collected data had been analyzed using SPPS 19 software and the results of the study showed lecturers have to apply certain instrument to record and monitor students discussion and to asses student contribution from the discussion. But most lecturers and students tend to access their Social Network Sites account daily compares to CIDOS. Incorporating CIDOS with Facebook to support online collaborative learning as recommendations for future research is suggested.

Courseware is always used in teaching and learning environment because of its function and attraction in helping students gaining more knowledge in learning. When users get a better result in academic while using courseware, the courseware can be categorized as excellent courseware. However, some of courseware is not fulfill the requirement by user as user using the courseware, but level of knowledge is not increased especially in engineering subject or more specific, physics. The discussion of this paper is to explain about implementation of 3D approach in developing courseware for engineering student and focus on Electromagnetic Theory subject. The product of this research is known as 3D-EmT courseware.

The theories of Multiple Intelligence (MI) used in this paper apply to students with interpersonal intelligence who is encouraged to work together in cooperative groups where interpersonal interaction is practiced. In this context, students used their knowledge and skills to help the group or partner to complete the tasks given. Students can interact with each other as they learn and the process of learning requires their verbal and non-verbal communication skills, co-operation and empathy in the group. Meanwhile educators can incorporate cooperative learning in groups in the classroom. On-MITT provides various tools to facilitate lecturers in preparing e-content that applies interpersonal intelligence. With minimal knowledge of Information and Technology (IT) skills, educators can produce creative and interesting teaching activities and teaching materials. The objective of this paper is to develop On-MITT prototype for interpersonal teaching activities. This paper addressed initial prototype of this stud...

Reduced carbon footprints and sustainable public transportation including cab services can be achieved with the applications of suitable green technology. However, to promote the usage of green technology, the technology must not only meet public needs but the public must also appreciate the benefits of adopting green technology in the form of ICT solutions in their routines. Using a theoretical model based on the theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study determines the needs for prompt delivery from cab operators as one of the most important modes of public transportation and to develop the appropriate technology applications that would best fulfill these needs. Twenty five cab drivers and users from the state of Malacca were surveyed on their perceptions of existing services as well as suggestions for actions to improve the services. Potential characteristics of green technology for meeting these needs were also identified which will be used for the development of the new technology. Initial findings from this research indicate that ascertaining availability of cab services is an issue that can be alleviated by employing appropriate applications. Important attributes of the ICT solution identified included ease of payment and ease of use.

This paper highlight the development of virtual learning for chemistry subject. In this research, the term virtual learning is used to show the students may see the real material and simulation that involved in learning process using computer. They also able to interact with the material and apparatus for the experiment. Discussion involved on theoretical framework modeling where it divided into four parts that is analysis, design, development and evaluation. For the second objective, researcher will explained the architecture of development of this Virtual Learning. While designing the development of Virtual Learning, researcher has used learning theory approach such as constructivism and contextual. The learning concept that are used in this Virtual Learning is education, simulation, animation to create virtual based on learning.
