Induction and Staff Attitude towards Retention and Organizational Effectiveness

Organizations continuously find themselves assessing what resources or tools that can be used to educate their employees. This may be due to the fact that organizations do not have clear ethics which can be communicated to employees. Therefore, this study examined how knowledgeable staffs are about the meaning and benefits of induction. It examined the main attitudes of workers towards induction/orientation to work and how induction programmes motivate staff to be committed to the organizational effectiveness. Descriptive research method was adopted for this study using two hundred and seventy one (271) valid questionnaires which were completed by academic and non-academic staff of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State Nigeria. The data collected were carefully analyzed using descriptive statistics to represent the raw data in a meaningful manner. The findings revealed that induction significantly influences staff attitude and behaviour towards organizational effectiveness. This means that well packaged induction programme will positively influence staff attitude. Data article on the effect of work engagement strategies on faculty staff behavioural outcomes in private universities

The main objective of this study was to present a data article that investigate the effect of work engagement strategies on faculty behavioural outcomes. Few studies analyse how work engagement strategies could help in driving standard work behaviour particularly in higher institutions. In an attempt to bridge this gap, this study was carried out using descriptive research method and Structural Equation Model (AMOS 22) for the analysis of four hundred and forty one (441) valid questionnaire which were completed by the faculty members of the six selected private universities in Nigeria using stratified and simple random sampling techniques. Factor model which shows high-reliability and good fit was generated, while construct validity was provided through convergent and discriminant analyses.

Employee resourcing strategies and universities’corporate image:A survey dataset

The data examined the effect of employee resourcing strategies on corporate image. The data were generated from a total of 500 copies of questionnaire administered to the academic staff of the six (6) selected private Universities in Southwest, Nigeria, out of which four hundred and forty-three (443) were retrieved. Stratified and simple random sampling techniques were used to select the respondents for this study. Descriptive and Linear Regression, were used for the presentation of the data. Mean score was used as statistical tool of analysis. Therefore, the data presented in this article is made available to facilitate further and more comprehensive investigation on the subject matter.

The relevance of organisational culture on job satisfaction and performance particularly within the hospitality sector cannot be over-emphasized. The culture of an organization goes a long way in distinguishing it from other organizations because it shows its ability to either be successful or to fail. To however achieve excellence and high-level performance, it is important to note that for effective and efficient operation, an organization would need a formal approach of communication as well as for making decisions and completing the tasks to match the needs of the organization. The managerial implications drawn from the study is that organizations should take advantage of their culture and inculcate values that will enhance performance.

Data on perception of faculty members on the influence of faculty support initiatives on the efficacy of job responsibilities

The main objective of this survey is to present data on the perception of the influence of faculty support initiatives on efficacy of job responsibilities using six private university in Nigeria as case study. The population of the study included all faculty members of selected private universities with a total of 1912 faculty members. A sample size of 500 were selected to participate in the survey based on the outcome of the sample size determination formula suggested by Falola et al. (2016) [5]. The validity and reliability of the research instrument were carried out. Regression analysis and structural equation modeling were used as statistical tool of analysis. It is believed that when the data is analysed, it will give insight into how faculty support initiatives of various universities can help in enhancing the effectiveness of job responsibilities.

Faculty commitment, effectiveness of job responsibilities and the moderating role of institutional support: A survey data set

The main objective of this paper is to present the data set which depicts faculty commitment and effectiveness of job responsibilities in a changing world and the moderating role of the university׳s support system. The population of the study consisted all the 1912 Faculty members of six selected private universities in Southwest, Nigeria [5]. The sample size determination formula by [5] was adopted, resulting in the selection of 400 respondents to whom a structured questionnaire was administered accordingly. Only 343 copies of the questionnaire were valid and used for this data set. Structural equation modeling, which combines factor analysis and multiple regression, was used to present the structural relationship between dependent and independent variables. When the data is analysed, it will help to determine the degree of relationship and the strength of significance between the observed variables and the latent constructs.

Data on the relationships between financing strategies, entrepreneurial competencies and business growth of technology-based SMEs in Nigeria

The article presents data on the relationship between financing strategies, entrepreneurial competencies and business growth of technology-based SMEs in Nigeria. Copies of structured questionnaire were administered to 233 SME owners and financial managers. Using descriptive and standard multiple regression statistical analysis, the data revealed that venture capital and business donations significantly influences profit growth of technology-based SMEs. Moreover, the data revealed that technology-`based firms can enhance their access to financing through capacity building in entrepreneurial competencies, such as acquiring the right skills and attitude.

Integrated datasets on transformational leadership attributes and employee engagement: The moderating role of job satisfaction in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry

Transformational leadership has gained a great deal of attention since its development through research and evaluations from James MacGregor Burns and Bernard Bass. But central to its development, there are still uncertainties regarding the attributes and interventions of transformational leadership style in developing nations like Nigeria. Hence, this article presented an integrated datasets on transformational leadership attributes, employee satisfaction and engagement using selected Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCGs) firms in Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive research design to establish trends and the quantitative approach was employed using survey questionnaire. A sample size of three hundred and fifty-nine (359) staff and management of sampled firms were selected. Data was analysed with the use of measurement and structural equation modelling and the field data set is made widely accessible to enable critical or a more comprehensive investigation. The findings identified intellectual stimulation (creativity and innovation) and attributed charisma as predictive determinants of transformational leadership attributes for increased satisfaction and engagement of sampled firms. It was recommended that FCMGs firms need to invest necessary resources in developing strategies and interventions to identify differing needs, abilities, and aspirations for staff satisfaction.

Job design and behavioural outcome of employees in agricultural research training, Ibadan, Nigeria

This study focused on the relationship between job design and behavioural outcomes of employees in Agricultural Research Training, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. The study was quantitative and the items in the questionnaire were adapted from previous studies. A total of 227 respondents were surveyed and statistical regression models were used to examine the relationship between the independent variables (job design) and dependent variables (employee behavioural outcomes). The findings showed that 14.4% of the variance in job design dimensions can explain the variance in employee behavioural outcome. The model revealed that task identity, sense of autonomy and skill variety had more statistical significance in predicting employee behavioural outcome, recording the highest beta value than other variables such as task significance and feedback mechanisms. The model indicates that the strength of regression weights of paths has a strong direction.

Survey datasets on organisational climate and job satisfaction among academic staff in some selected private universities in Southwest Nigeria

This study attempts to establish the relationships that exist between the different variables of organizational climate and job satisfaction among academic staff in some selected private Universities in South-West Nigeria, to ascertain related factors in organizational climate that can cause dissatisfaction among academics; and to determine if there is a significant difference in the way senior academics and junior academics perceive the existing organizational climate. A total of 384 copies of questionnaires were administered to selected five (5) private Universities in the South-West Zone of Nigeria but a total of 293 questionnaires were returned fully and appropriately filled. The study made use of appropriate statistics such as measurement model (Confirmatory Factor Analysis) and Multiple Regression to obtain results.
