Angiographic Appearance of the Renal Vein in a Case of Fibromuscular Dysplasia of the Artery

Alexander Rosenberger; Olga B. Adler; Haim Lichtig

Renal venography was performed in a patient suffereing from hypertension due to fibromuscular dysplasia of the renal artery. The venogram revealed morphological changes in the renal veins similar to those seen in fibromuscular dysplasia of the arteries. Histological examination of the veins showed fibrosis of the medial wall layer.

Subclavian artery aneurysm caused by cervical rib: Case report and review

Ahuva Engel; Olga B. Adler; Roni Carmeli

An aneurysm in the subclavian artery is relatively uncommon and a cervical rib as the cause is rare. Such a case is presented and the pertinent literature is reviewed. The mechanism of aneurysm formation in a normal vessel wall is discussed.

Combined treatment of concurrent laryngeal and tracheal stenosis.

Isaac Eliachar; Moshe Goldsher; Olga B. Adler; Henry Z. Joachims

This report describes a one-stage combined surgical procedure for laryngeal and tracheal stenosis presenting concurrently. The technique links together three new procedures. Autogenous hyoid bone transposition on a muscle pedicle for reconstruction of the larynx, together with implantation of a silicone T-tube in conjunction with a custom-carved silicone stent, for maintenance and resurfacing of both strictures. This technique has produced satisfactory results in four cases. In two of the patients there is sufficient follow-up to indicate the efficacy of this method.

Localization of metallic foreign bodies in the chest by computed tomography.

Olga B. Adler; Alexander Rosenberger

Computed tomography readily localizes metallic foreign bodies in the chest but should be reserved for those cases presenting diagnostic problems regarding extra-versus intrathoracic location. [Experience with four patients is presented.

Superior vena cava syndrome: a new radiologic approach to diagnosis.

Alex Rosenberger; Olga B. Adler

Superior vena cava syndrome, a cause of severe distress, requires careful assessment of its etiology before therapy can be instituted. The diagnostic work-up is varied depending on whether or not the superior vena cava syndrome is associated with a mediastinal mass.Fine needle aspiration biopsy has proved to be of considerable value in the evaluation of superior vena cava syndrome associated with a mediastinal mass.

Computed tomography of the thoracic duct: An anatomic study

Olga B. Adler; Alexander Rosenberger

The thoracic duct was visualized throughout its course by computed tomography in 18 patients with Hodgkins disease or metastatic spread of cancer. The anatomy of the thoracic duct, as demonstrated by computed tomography, was found to agree with descriptions of the duct as seen in lymphography. The relationship of the duct to other organs can be accurately assessed only by computed tomography, although visualization of fine details of the duct itself requires lymphography

Radiologic aspects of Ask-Upmark kidney.

Olga B. Adler; Alexander Rosenberger

Radiologic work-up in a young girl suffering from severe hypertension revealed a small right kidney. In the pathological examination of the surgical removed right kidney segmental hypoplasia was found--Ask Upmark kidney. A detailed radiologic description of this entity is presented.
