A robot needs to have a representation of the environment to free of collision move. There are different types of environment maps in mobile robotics. The most used ones are metric maps. The aim of this paper is the proposal of algorithms for real robotic system that can map the environment. In this paper we deal with the analysis of properties of the laser scanner and the making of its model. Further there is proposed a method for making map based on the properties of the scanner and program implementation of this method. The result of this work is a program that maps the environment and which is usable on real robot system.

The paper demonstrates remote control of test experiment in the virtual laboratory. This is a common problem, but another way can always be used to solve it. The paper compares several existing virtual laboratories and their possible issues at present. To develop such a new solution JavaScript technology was used on both client and server side using Node.js runtime. The modern approach is a visualization of received data in mixed reality using Microsoft HoloLens or another compatible device with Windows Mixed Reality platform.

The paper deals with the development of a system for automatic weld recognition using new information technologies based on cloud computing and single-board computer in the context of Industry 4.0. The proposed system is based on a visual system for weld recognition, and a neural network based on cloud computing for real-time weld evaluation, both implemented on a single-board low-cost computer. The proposed system was successfully verified on welding samples which correspond to a real welding process in the car production process. The system considerably contributes to the welds diagnostics in industrial processes of small- and medium-sized enterprises.

The topic of representation, classification, and clustering of text documents and information extraction is currently a very researched area. The area of data mining and text mining has its specific problems in the Slovak language. This paper deals with the methods of pre-processing of medical data, namely Slovak health records written in natural language, and their subsequent analysis, especially classification of their parts into classes.

Nowadays, virtual tours are very popular and many people would like to see a virtual house before the acquisition of the real one. The paper demonstrates a creation of a virtual tour for smart home developed in Unity 3D engine. This virtual tour is connected with Arduino microcontroller which has attached several sensors and actuators. These electronic devices react to the events in the virtual tour and vice versa.

This paper is devoted to the problem of modern methods for evaluating the quality of welds. One of the methods of the weld quality evaluation is visual inspection. This work deals with the possibility of implementing algorithms of recognition and evaluation of welds using visual system in single-board computers. This single-board computer can also communicate with Android smartphone which is a very good interface for worker or his shift manager. Result of this paper is a proposal of weld quality evaluation system that consists of single-board computer, Android smartphone and other modern equipment.

The work is devoted to the problem of weld segmentation in modern methods for evaluating the quality of welds. One of the methods of the weld quality evaluation is visual inspection. This work deals with the possibility of implementing algorithms of recognition and evaluation of welds using visual system in single-board computers. Result of this paper is computing time comparison of chosen embedded single-board computers and weld segmentation results based on entropy.

Technologies are necessary part of everyday life, which are growing with extremely high speed. One component of this big group are automated systems that we focus on. The purpose of using this kind of systems is different but in general it is process optimization of and time and costs savings. One part of progress is modeling the systems by several formalisms. Effective tool for this purpose are high-level Petri nets whose inherent component are hybrid Petri nets. Systems modeled by this formalism are combination of discrete, discrete event and continuous subsystems. The paper deals with analysis and applications of hybrid systems in different areas. We decided to use hybrid Petri nets to demonstrate system processes because this area is only is being developed in Slovakia and we see a huge potential in their usage.

Presently, discrete-event dynamic systems represent a significant group of varied systems e.g. computer networks, manufacturing systems, communication systems, database systems etc. An important class of discrete-event systems are automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS). There is a big demand for new modelling and control methods of these systems in automotive industry in Slovakia. These systems are equipped by robots and other automation technology. The paper deals with Coloured Petri nets applied in modelling and control of these systems. Main results of the paper include brief description of the method and model of storage system implemented by Coloured Petri nets in PNetLab software tool. We also discuss the possible application of the model and modelling method in practice and for system control purposes.
