TiCl4-Catalyzed Efficient One-Pot Synthesis of α α-Amino Phosphonates

Y. Thirupathi Reddy; P. Narsimha Reddy; B. Sunil Kumar; Pradeep Rajput; N. Sreenivasulu; B. Rajitha

α-Aminophosphonates are synthesized by three-component condensation of aldehydes, amines, and trimethylphosphite in acetonitrile by using TiCl4 as catalyst. Compared to conventional methods, this new method consistently has advantages, including excellent yields, short reaction times, and mild reaction conditions.

Efficient synthesis of benzo[g]-and benzo[h]chromene derivatives by one-pot three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes with active methylene compounds and naphthols

B. Sunil Kumar; N. Srinivasulu; R. H. Udupi; B. Rajitha; Y. Thirupathi Reddy; P. Narsimha Reddy; P. S. Kumar

A convenient procedure is reported for the synthesis of benzo[g]-and benzo[h]chromene derivatives via one-pot three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes with malononitrile or ethyl cyanoacetate and 1-or 2-naphthol in the presence of 10 mol % of titanium tetrachloride as catalyst. The reactions require no solvent; they are characterized by simple experimental procedure and easy isolation and can be performed on enlarged scale.

B. Sunil Kumar; P. S. Kumar; N. Srinivasulu; B. Rajitha; Y. Thirupathi Reddy; P. Narsimha Reddy; R. H. Udupi

Good yields of substituted coumarins were obtained by a synthetic method involving the Pechmann reaction using vanadium(III)chloride (VCl3) reagent to effect this condensation under solvent-free conditions.

Synthesis of Biological Active Chromene Benzothiadiazole Derivatives

G. V. Panakala Rao; B. Rajitha; Y. Thirupathi Reddy; P. Narsimha Reddy; V. Naveen Kumar

In this article, we describe the synthesis of various substituted Chromene-[1, 3]thiazolo [2, 1, 3] benzothiadiazoles 4a-l by conventional (Method A) and microwave-assisted (Method B) which achieved reductions in reaction times, higher yields, and a cleaner reaction than the conventional method. A comparative study of these two methods has been discussed.

P. Narsimha Reddy; B. Sunil Kumar; P. S. Kumar; N. Srinivasulu; Y. Thirupathi Reddy; B. Rajitha

Vanadium chloride is found to be an efficient catalyst for the tetrahydropyranylation and detetrahydropyranylation of various alcohols and phenols, giving good yields at room temperature and short reaction times.

SYNTHESIS OF 4,9-DIMETHYL-8- (6-ARYL-2-THIOXO-1,2,3,6-TETRAHYDRO PYRIMIDIN-4-YL)-FURO[2,3-H]CHROMEN-2-ONES AS ANTIMICROBIAL AGENTS UNDER MICROWAVE IRRADIATION

P. Narsimha Reddy; G. V.Panakal Rao; M. Kanakalingeswara Rao; B. Rajitha

Acrolyl furochromen-2-ones (3a–i) obtained in good yields on microwave irradiation of furochromen-2-one (1) with various simple and substituted aromatic aldehydes (2a–i). 3a–g on cyclo dehydration with thiourea in domestic microwave oven furnished tetrahydro thiaxopyrimidine furochromen-2-ones 4a–i in high yields. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds were established on the basis of analytical and spectral data, IR, and 1H NMR.
