Estimation of water vapor source/sink distribution and evapotranspiration over broadleaved Koreanpine forest in Changbai Mountain using inverse Lagrangian dispersion analysis

[1] The inverse Lagrangian dispersion analysis method was used with the aim of calculating the evapotranspiration and the H2O source/sink distribution within and over broadleaved Koreanpine forest canopy, using only gradient measurement of microclimate parameters as the input of the model from 1 May to 30 September 2003. The results showed that the model produced agreement between modeled and measured daily daytime evapotranspiration. The total daytime evapotranspiration was equal to 204.88 mm compared with the measured value, 194.26 mm. However, the total calculated evapotranspiration, 298.91 mm, is much higher than the measured result, 240.33 mm. The variation of the source/sink with time and depth were also discussed at the same time.

Modeling CO2 source‐sink and flux over broadleaved Koreanpine forest in Changbai Mountain using inverse Lagrangian dispersion analysis

Vertical source/sink strengths distributions and net flux of carbon dioxide (CO2) within and above a broadleaved Koreanpine forest canopy were modeled by inverse Lagrangian dispersion analysis method using only mean concentration profiles measured in Changbai mountain research station of China. The model results compared well with eddy covariance CO2 flux measurements above the canopy, and the average correlation coefficient is 0.89; however, the model overestimated nocturnal CO2 flux about two to three times larger than those measured results. The time-depth evolutions of CO2 source/sink strength and the relationship between CO2 flux and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) were also discussed.
