Plants are important sources, for the production of chemicals including medicines, flavors, aromas, pigments and enzymes. Most of these chemicals are secondary metabolites. In the last decade, there has been increased interest in producing secondary metabolites by plant cell culture (1, 2, 3). In our research, the production of papain by papaya cells, flavanoids by roselle cells and rosmarinic acid (RA) by salvia officinalis cells were investigated.
