The effect of aminoalkoxy and glycidoxyalkoxy silanes on strength of a polyethylene-modified copolymer-metal (polyethylene terephthalate) adhesion joint was studied for double and triple acetate copolymers of ethylene. It was shown that such modification resulted in an essential increase in the deformation-strength and adhesion characteristics of adhesive joints.

Novel silicon-containing amine curing agents for epoxy oligomers were synthesized by the interaction of diols of variable structure with aminopropyltriethoxysilane. The development of these curing agents yields a significant reduction in the polymer glass point, an increase in the degree of conversion of epoxide groups in the course of curing, and a significant improvement in the chemical stability and hydrophobicity of epoxy amine coatings, as well as their physicomechanical properties.

The influence of the formation conditions of coverings based on chlorosulphonated polyethylene on the kinetics of hardening is researched. Hardening reaction schemes are suggested. It is shown that cross linking of chlorosulphonated polyethylene is performed by interaction products of isocyanates and moisture diffusing into the cover.

The results of investigations of the effect of solid petroleum resins, epoxide oligomers, and type of curing agent upon the properties of varnishes and coatings based on chlorosulfonated polyethylene are given. It is shown that the use of cycloaliphatic isocyanates and amine-containing organic silicon compounds allows one to obtain coatings with a complex of high processing and operating characteristics.

Kinetic studies of the interaction of monoepoxides with primary and secondary monoamines are carried out. It is shown that the reactivity of the epoxide ring of an active modifier depends on the structure during interaction both in bulk and in solvent environment. It was found that the ratio of the constants of the reaction of primary amino groups with an epoxy ring to the constants of the secondary amine is about 2.

The problems of the formation of the supramolecular and molecular structure of polymers are considered. Based on kinetic investigations of trioxane polymerization, the thermodynamic approach to the problem of regulating the supramolecular and molecular structure of polymers during synthesis is formulated. A method for producing polymers with the given supramolecular structure is suggested. It is noted that the application of this method allows one to regulate the structure during the synthesis of three-dimensional cross-linked polymer systems as single-component, filled, reinforced, and other composite materials.

The fragility of polymeric materials is largely determined by the topological structure of the polymeric template [1]. Therefore, targeted modification of the structure of cross-linked polymers, including that using active modifying agents, is an important task. This study deals with the effect of propylene cyclocarbonate (PC) as an active modifying agent on the topological structure of cross-linked polymers obtained by curing the epoxy oligomer ED-20 with diethylenetriamine (DETA) without heat supply (at room temperature). The structure of a cross-linked polymer can be characterized by probabilistic calculations if the threedimensional polycondensation involves no “substitution effect,” i.e., the structure is a unique function of the conversion [2]. Otherwise, when the polycondensation is nonrandom, i.e., the polymer structure depends also on the reaction route, it can be characterized only by kinetic calculations or computer simulation.
