-1 . After harvesting, root samples were collected and tested for quality. The use of increasing nitrogen rates resulted in increased nitrate accumulation in the roots. The increase in nitrogen fertilizer rate from 60 to 120 kgNha -1 led to a reduction in Vitamin C content and an increase in s-carotene. Differences were observed between cultivars and hybrids in all quality parameters tested.

Applications of bio-stimulant Biocomplex 900 was studied in this paper in the production of tomato (Lycopersicon Essculentum Mill) seedling and the hybrid Belle was used. Indicators of growth and development were studied: mass of fresh root matter, stem and leaves, leaf area and the content of photosynthetic parameters in the leaf. A natural bio-stimulator was used in these studies as the ecological preparation, since it contains the seaweed Ascophyllum nodosum with high content of alginic acids, micro elements and amino acids. The application of this bio-stimulant showed very positive impact, compared to the control (untreated) variant and increased the values of almost all investigated parameters.

The objective of this study was to evaluate antifungal and antioxidant activities of vegetable extracts ( Capsicum annuum L. cv. Dora, cv. Strizanka, cv. Morava), grown in Serbia. Different experimental models have included the determination content of total phenolics, total flavonoids, antioxidant capacity and minimum inhibitory concentration of the extract. The phenolic composition of different extracts was determined by the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. The highest amounts of phenols and highest antioxidant capacity were found in the cultivar Dora extracts. The highest phenolic content has been shown in cultivar Strizanka ethanol extract. All of the extracts showed strong antimicrobial activity. On the basis of the results obtained, the extracts were found to serve as a potential source of natural antioxidants and antimicrobial due to their marked activity. The obtained results may be useful in the evaluation of new dietary and food products. Key words: High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), phenolic components, antimicrobial activity, antioxidant activity.
