This paper explores connections between spirituality and creativity in indigenous communities, and their link to spiritual intelligence. Some spiritual and creative characteristics of Brazilian indigenous peoples are described, as well as their legacy to Brazilian culture and creative giftedness. The paper concludes that Brazilian people have inherited a rich imagination, permeable culture, and many animist elements from the indigenous societies, which are factors that contribute to creative expression and the blossoming of spiritual intelligence.

This chapter provides a critical review on the topic of counseling the gifted. The chapter takes the position that a scientifically defensible approach starts from the perspective that the counselor or therapist follows a model of evidence-based clinical practice. Evidence-based clinical practice, according to the authors, is defined as the integration of the best available research with clinical expertise in the context of understanding the world of the gifted youngster. A clinical case is presented to help illustrate evidence-based practice in working with a troubled gifted adolescent.

Several studies emphasize the difficulties faced by the woman who stands out for her superior potential, highlighting the influence of the social and cultural forces on the development and expression of her talent. Reconciling the multiple roles played by women is a major inhibiting factor to the promotion of the female talent. Thus, this essay aims to contribute to a greater understanding of the development of talent in women, and, based on recent investigations, to discuss the factors that facilitate and inhibit an outstanding female performance. Information presented in this article may lead to the development of other studies on female talent and contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that assist children and adolescents talented as well as public policies aimed at working women.
