Besides the ration, the most consumed input in the productive chain of the poultry industry is the electrical energy, mainly in the production of one day chicks, consuming energy in all the periods, from the egg production to incubation. For the egg production, huge amount of energy is used, in illumination systems of poultry houses in the wave length of the yellow color. The reduction of the energy expenses is tied up to the improvement of the illumination systems, since lamps of higher power, low efficiency and less durable, form the usual system. So, this work, developed in Southwest Parana, has aimed to develop an illumination system which uses a lesser amount of lamps, demanding less energy and long lasting. The illumination systems with sodium vapor 70 W, mixed vapor 250 W and fluorescent HO 110 W lamps were mounted, observing the minimum illuminance of 40 lux. A technical and economical analysis of the data proved that the sodium vapor system is the most economical and durable.

This research was conducted at the State University of Maringa, Umuarama Campus, Parana State, in the season 2008/2009, with the objective to evaluate the growth and irrigation use efficiency on yield of grain, oil and dry weight of sunflower under irrigation levels. In the irrigated treatments (L1, L2, L3 and L4) the crop coefficients (kc) used were equal (L2), below (L1) and above (L3 and L4) those proposed by FAO. The irrigation favored the crop growth and the highest yield was obtained from values of kc 100% above those proposed by FAO (L4). The highest irrigation use efficiencies were obtained from values of kc by FAO (L2). The grain yield without irrigation (L0) was equal to 4788 kg ha-1, while in L2 and L4 treatments, grain yields were equal to 6304 and 6963 kg ha-1, respectively. The irrigation did not increase the oil content and oil yield was proportional to grain yield.

This study was conducted to evaluate the economic and energetic viability of the third season of common bean under irrigation depths in the northwestern region of Parana. The experiment was established with six irrigation levels and four replications in a randomized block design. The bean crop was not economically viable without irrigation. Operating profit increased with increasing irrigation depths, reaching a total operating profit of R

This paper describes the techniques and methods used in the development of IRRIGATE application using object-oriented programming using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications 8.0 compiler (VBA), a specific program for the development of conventional sprinkler irrigation projects that have the purpose of facilitating the economic design of systems that use electrical energy distribution Brazilian dealer network. The application supports the agronomic and operating system design and allows the definition of the layout of irrigation. Continuous load losses are determined by universal Darcy-Weissbach and the localized estimated or calculated by the direct method. The sidelines are scaled by the criterion of maximum permissible load loss and the other lines of the system by cost analysis with the help of Bresse equation. This program is a tool that can be used as a direct contribution to the increase of economic efficiency of irrigation by sprinkler systems, helping to enable the use of this method in agriculture and the rational use of inputs involved.
