In this research an embedded-based procedure for automatic fault detection and supervision in 2 × 2 PV array with possible fault allocation by using voltage and current parameter through embedded. The supervision system is developed with LabView which is acting as real-time data logger. The approach has been validated with experimental setup, and the system is designed with low-cost embedded-based solution to provide reliable and secure monitoring of PV system. The system include the parameter extractions technique to calculate main PV system parameter supervision based method analysis the output of voltage and current sensor present in the solar PV array. In the experimental result, fault detection and supervision system has shown the high accuracy of fault detection and fault classification on the test.

Fingerprint reader is an emerging technology, increasing at a tremendous rate due to its function that allows the fast identification and secure verification capabilities. This technology enables to recognize individual users without need of any password and the card swipes and works in a different ways rather than the swipe cards and other identification technologies. By using this technology, we can recognize and authenticate individuals based on the who they are, instead of the what they know, like their password and pins and what they possess, like keys and swipe cards. Fingerprint technology having important role with security application and e-commerce due to their ability of identifying and providing access to user through finger. This technology can be implemented in the various areas like Voters Identification, Passport verification, Population Census, Driver’s license, and Professional ID and there data can be placed on cloud by using Internet of Things (IoT). If cloud-based technology incorporated with fingerprint identification and is properly used, then it has potential to create a highly secured verification environment. In this research, we have done extensive literature survey for future research areas in this field.

In this paper cloud assisted robot is designed and developed. (IoT) Internet of things has been recognized to be the next revolutionary technology which connects all the systems together and make them smart. In the typical cases the IoT based smart robot are becoming the most popular systems. The previous tradition network are changing due to the advent of the Internet of things which include various Android operated Smart phone connected with service oriented robot and are using wireless protocol to communicate. The robot is controlled through the Android app or through the web page designed with html and various task of robot and motion is realized. The results achieved shows the approach is efficient in terms of connectivity and convergence

WPAN-Based Energy Efficient Automation System for Buildings

Manish Kumar Mishra; Rajesh Singh; Anita; Rohit Samkaria

Nowadays the building energy management systems (BEMS) or implementing control automation in buildings is very significant and well known, because they can play an important role in regular energy management and therefore these type of system can achieve the possible both cost and energy savings. The key driver of the building automation market is focused upon better facilitation to the user in terms of comfort at reduced operation cost. Energy efficiency improvement will also contribute to environmental protection. Therefore, there have been regulations and rating systems made that mandates the requirement of energy monitoring and control in a building. For example, the above mentioned building utilities and equipment’s control and automation plays an integral role in achieving the green building rating points from certifying authorities such as GRIHA and IGBC. The proposed system includes the control of various active systems such as lighting including artificial lighting (On/Off and dimming control) and day lighting (motorized blinds or shutters), air conditioners and safety features like fire alarm and gas alarm. In future the existing idea can be implemented for the whole building, i.e., various rooms or areas, and then all of them can be integrated on a common platform for monitoring and control of different energy consuming equipment. Also, it can be further extended to the integration of different building systems in a particular area on a single platform.

Smart Geyser with Usage Profiling to Reduce Electricity Consumption

Rohit Samkaria; Ambujaksh Shah; Bhupinder Singh; S. Choudhury

Geyser which is a pressurized hot water container utilized in household causes the high power consumption and at the same time degrading the efficiency of the heating element due to heat loses, i.e., overheating of the element. This paper presents the smart geyser which operates in two modes (i) Autonomous Mode (ii) User Mode. A temperature sensor probe is used as a control switch which is used to regulate the water temperature of geyser by adjusting the heating duration of the element. The study reveals the control topologies used to reduce the power consumption and to increases the efficiency of the geyser. The system consists of Atmega16 microcontroller which determines the hot water profile through temperature probe in Autonomous Mode and in User Mode the controller regulates the temperature of geyser as per the demand profile developed by user. From the result it is apparent that by controlling the temperature of the geyser, the heat loses in the Geyser element and saving of electricity power consumption can be made.
