Untersuchung der Lebenszykluskosten von IT-Anwendungen

IT management focuses on planning and developing new IT solutions. The importance of production (operation, support, maintenance) and further development of existing solutions is often neglected, although these tasks are responsible for the majority of today’s IT costs. The paper introduces a life cycle model for IT application systems and presents the results of a survey of the life cycle costs of 30 IT application systems. Within the survey, the distribution of costs over the application life cycle was recorded and evaluated. The results show the central importance of recurring costs for production and further development. For a production time of 5 years these costs amounted to 79% of all life cycle costs, whereas only 21% of the costs were incurred during the planning and initial development stages.

Konzepte für ein produktorientiertes Informationsmanagement

IT-Produkte bilden die Basis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen IT-Dienstleistern und deren Kunden. Der Wandel von einer traditionell projekt-und anwendungsorientierten hin zu einer produktorientierten Gestaltung der IT fuhrt zu neuen Anforderungen an das Informationsmanagement. Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt Konzepte fur ein produktorientiertes Informationsmanagement vor. Er definiert verschiedene Stufen von IT-Produkten, beschreibt die Aufgabenverteilung innerhalb eines produktorientierten Informationsmanagement und zeigt die erforderlichen Rollen auf Seiten des Dienstleisters und des Kunden auf. Im Anschluss werden Fragestellungen bei der praktischen Umsetzung eines produktbasierten Informationsmanagement diskutiert, die sich mit der Know-how-Verteilung, der Gestaltung der Kundenschnittstelle, dem Portfolio-Management und der IT-Governance befassen.

The representation of selected application areas of intelligent agents shown here deliberately does not follow the viewpoint of a computer scientist or developer of intelligent agents. In contrast to Part I, this chapter aims to use illustrative examples to provide interested readers with an introduction to the complex area of intelligent agents and so permit them to recognize the future potentials of this technology.
