Publication

Featured researches published by S. A. Lermontov.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1996

A novel method of CC bond formation via phenylation of terminal acetylenes by triphenylbismuth difluoride

S. A. Lermontov; Igor M. Rakov; Nikolai S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Terminal acetylenes readily undergo phenylation by Ph3BiF2 in the presence of catalytic amounts of CuCl affording phenyl substituted acetylenes.

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry | 1998

Fluorination of olefins with PhSeF3, PhSeF5 and PhTeF5

S. A. Lermontov; Sergei I. Zavorin; Ilya V. Bakhtin; Alexei N. Pushin; Nikolai S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract Phenyselenium trifluoride, PhSeF3 (PSTF) either oxidatively difluorinates or selenofluorinates olefins, depending on their structures. The pentafluorides PhSeF5 and PhTeF5 appear to be effective difluorinating reagents, affording 1,2-difluoroalkanes from olefins.

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry | 1994

Fluorination of phosphorus(+3) derivatives by xenon difluoride

S. A. Lermontov; Anatoliy V. Popov; S.I. Zavorin; I.I. Sukhojenko; N.V. Kuryleva; I. V. Martynov; N. S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract Xenon difluoride, XeF 2 , effectively fluorinates various phosphorous acid derivatives as well as hydrophosphoryl compounds. Arbuzov rearrangement is followed by i-Bu → t-Bu isomerization in the case of i-Bu OPF 2 .

Russian Chemical Bulletin | 1998

Triethylamine as an effective catalyst for the reaction of CO2 with epichlorohydrin

S. A. Lermontov; T. N. Velikokhat'ko; S. I. Zavorin

Tertiary amines were shown to catalyze efficiently the reaction of CO2 with epichlorohydrin at 60°C and atmospheric pressure.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1995

FLUORINATING PROPERTIES OF PhTeF5 AND PhSeF5 TOWARDS C[dbnd]C BOND

S. A. Lermontov; Sergei I. Zavorin; Ilya V. Bakhtin; Nikolai S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract Phenylselenium pentafluoride and phenyltellurium pentafluoride react with olefins affording appropriate 1,2-difluorides under mild conditions.

Tetrahedron Letters | 1993

The reaction of norbornene with selenium(II) and selenium(IV) flourides

S. A. Lermontov; Sergei I. Zavorin; Alexei N. Pushin; A. N. Chekhlov; Nikolai S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract PhSeF adds to norbornene predominantly in a trans -manner to give non-rearranged 2, 3-selenofluorination adducts, 4 and 5, corresponding to exo - and endo -attack. In contrast, PhSeF 3 gives mainly the products of cis-exo -addition, 6, along with the Wagner-Meerwein rearrangement product, 7.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1994

Triphenylbismuth Difluoride–A Novel Reagent for the Oxidative Fluorination of P(III), Se(II) and Sb(III) Compounds

S. A. Lermontov; Igor M. Rakov; Nikolai S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract Triphenylbismuth difluoride, Ph3BiF2, is a mild source for the oxidative fluorination of organic compounds of P(III), Sb(III) and Se(II), bearing electron donating, non-bulky substituents.

Phosphorus Sulfur and Silicon and The Related Elements | 1999

THE METHYL ESTER OF 3-AZIDOTETRAFLUOROPROPIONIC ACID - A NOVEL REAGENT FOR THE OXIDATIVE FLUORINATION OF GROUP 15 AND 16 ELEMENTS

S. A. Lermontov; Igor M. Rakov; Sergei V. Shkavrov

Abstract The methyl ester of 3-azidotetrafluoropropionic acid, N3-CF2CF2COOMe oxidatively fluorinates P(III), Sb(III) and Te(II) compounds to form the corresponding difluorides in good yield.

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry | 1999

Hexafluoropropene oxide – a fluorinating reagent for the formation of element–fluorine bonds

S. A. Lermontov; Igor M. Rakov; N. S. Zefirov; Peter J. Stang

Abstract Hexafluoropropene oxide (HFPO) is shown to be a good reagent for the nucleophilic formation of the element–fluorine bond in organoelement compounds. Fluorides of Bi, Sb, Se, Te and I were prepared from appropriate oxygen compounds

Russian Chemical Bulletin | 1998

The use of hexafluoropropene oxide in substitutive fluorination of SbV and BiV oxygen-containing compounds

S. A. Lermontov; Igor M. Rakov; Nikolai S. Zefirov

Reactions of hexafluoropropene oxide with SbV and BiV oxygen-containing compounds were studied. The E=O (E−O) groups were found to be transformed into the EF2 (E−F) (E=Sb or Bi) groups.
