Helical geodesic immersions into complex space forms

Sadahiro Maeda; Yoshihiro Ohnita

This paper consists of two parts. One is to construct a class of helical geodesic equivariant immersions of orderd(⩾3), which are neither Kaehler nor totally real immersions, into complex projective spaces. The other is to show the basic results about a helix in complex space forms.

Holomorphic helices in a complex space form

Sadahiro Maeda; Toshiaki Adachi

In a complex space form M we shall investigate a smooth curve γ which is generated by a holomorphic Killing vector field X on M .

Geometric Meaning of Isoparametric Hypersurfaces in a Real Space Form

Makoto Kimura; Sadahiro Maeda

We shall provide a characterization of all isoparametric hypersurfaces Ms in a real space form ˜ M(c) by observing the extrinsic shape of geodesics of M in the ambient manifold ˜ M(c).

Characterizations of three homogeneous real hypersurfaces in a complex projective space

Makoto Kimura; Sadahiro Maeda

In an n-dimensional complex hyperbolic space CH(c) of constant holomorphic sectional curvature c(< 0), the horosphere HS, which is defined by HS = limr→∞ G(r), is one of nice examples in the class of real hypersurfaces. Here, G(r) is a geodesic sphere of radius r (0 < r < ∞) in CH(c). The second author ([14]) gave a geometric characterization of HS. In this paper, motivated by this result, we study real hypersurfaces M2n−1 isometrically immersed into an n-dimensional complex projective space CP (c) of constant holomorphic sectional curvature c(> 0).
