Recently many steel structure are constructed and many studies about the composite structural system are proceeded variously. This study suggests the new shape of High performance Cold forming composite beam and evaluates the bending performance and seismic performance by the test. The results of the bending performance test showed that the capacity of the beam was increased stably according to the increasing of the depth of beams and the thickness of steel plates, and it is possible to apply the existing evaluation equation of KBC 2009. The results of the seismic performance test showed that the capacity of the connection was increased stably according to the increasing number of the negative moment rebar and the depth of beam. Also, the maximum moment is above the plastic moment and the connection satisfies the requirement of intermediate moment frame.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate structural performance of beam-to-column connections for deep beams of over 750mm and less than 900mm in accordance with FEMA350 loading protocol. In this study, seismic connection details for beam-to-column connections made from SHN steel were developed. Based on the results of experimental tests, the developed connection details are suitable for the rigid connections that applicable for Intermediate Moment Frames(IMF). If horizontal reinforcing plates are installed in such deep beams, those reinforcing plates can prevent brittle fracture, and thus seismic resistance of the deep beam will be improved. So the properly installed jigs will improve the resisting capacity and make the connection to be suitable for the application in Special Moment Frames(SMF).
