Studies on the immature stages of Agromyzidae (Diptera) from India

Summary A complete description of final instar larvae and pupae of three species M. centrosematis de Meijere, M. metallica (Thomson) and M. sojae (Zehntner) are given. Notes on some biological observations and a complete dichotomous key for the identification of the larvae of eleven species are also included.

Descriptions of two new species of Phytobia Lioy (Diptera : Agromyzidae) from the Western Ghats (Kerala : S. India)

While studying the collections made from the Western Ghats (Kerala) in October, 1968, we came across two new species of Agromyzidae belonging to the genus Phytobia Lioy subgenus Poemyza Hendel, the descriptions of which are included in this paper. Both species, Phytobia (Poemyza) kumliensis, sp. nov. and Phytobia (Poemyza) walarai, sp. nov., were reared from their host plants, two different species of grass, the former was also collected on wings.
