Despite decades of research and the growing adoption of methodologies and automated tools for the management and implementation of IT projects, most of them still fail. In face of this motivation, there is research conducted in order to identify best management practices to be adopted to increase the rates of successful projects. It is important to highlight that, along with the best management practices, it is necessary manage the quality of information to allow projects to succeed. Quality of information is indispensable resource for project management, considering that it allows understand the problem, supports decision-making and desbribes the adopted solution. In face of this scenario, the goal of this paper is verify the effects generated by best management practices in performance of information quality in IT projects. Therefore, this study explores a bias under discussed in the literature on the relationship between the best management practices and the quality of information, allowing researchers in the area check how one affects the other. It is important to highlight that the research of this problem is limited to Brazil.

Recently, studies have referenced innovation as a key factor affecting the performance of firms. Companies make use of its innovative capacities to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. The objective of this paper is to contribute to innovation planning policies in highly complex environments. Thus, a modelling proposal is presented to assess the impact of technological innovation capacity on the performance of high-tech companies in Brazil. This procedure was prepared according to the following phases: phase 1: determination of the conceptual model; phase 2: verification of the conceptual model. The research was initially conducted based on the specialised literature, which extracted the data regarding the constructs/structure and content in order to build the model. To demonstrate the modelling feasibility, it used a survey of high-tech companies in Brazil. The research involved the intervention of experts knowledgeable on the object studied, selected by technical-scientific criteria. The data were extracted using an assessment matrix. To reduce subjectivity in the results achieved the following methods were used complementarily and in combination: multicriteria analysis, multivariate analysis, psychometric scaling and neurofuzzy technology. The data were extracted using an assessment matrix and the results were satisfactory, validating the modelling approach.

Recently, relevant changes have made organizational boundaries more fluid and dynamic in response to the rapid pace of knowledge diffusion, and innovation and international competition. This helps to reconsider how to succeed with the information and innovation. Information Technology (IT) is increasingly being implemented for strategic reasons, so as to enable improved efficiency and to improve the control and productivity of internal processes. In this perspective, this study aims to identify which management practices projects described in the literature, can be considered as best practices in managing IT projects in the Brazilian context. The literature review enabled the identification of management practices for IT projects and the survey with professional judgment matrix applied to the Brazilian context allowed us to identify, among these, the best practices in the light of the Brazilian experience.

Recently, relevant changes have made organizational boundaries more fluid and dynamic in response to the rapid pace of knowledge diffusion, and innovation and international competition. This helps to reconsider how to succeed with the information and innovation. In this perspective, a significant numbers of organisations are investing large amounts of resources into information and communication technologies as they seek to gain competitive advantage. In this perspective, this article aims at presenting an exploratory study of project information technology (IT) management based on benefits, costs and risks. The research was developed in light of the literature and consulting with experts, which were selected for technical and scientific criteria, with knowledge about the investigated object. The data were collected through an array of trial, where experts presented their views on the variable benefits, costs and risks. The results were satisfactory, validating the proposal.

Recently, relevant changes have made organizational boundaries more fluid and dynamic in response to the rapid pace of knowledge diffusion and innovation and international competition. This helps to reconsider how to succeed with informaiton technology (IT). The IT has moved beyond the implementation of IT applications to an age of IT-enabled change. The trend towards increasing use of IT continues and the challenge remains how to better manage IT projects in order to maximise their economic benefits. This paper presents a diagnostic use in traditional and agile software project management practices in Brazil. To be able to assess the use of such methodologies in the light of experience, multiple case studies were conducted in three Brazilian organizations, who claimed to manage their software projects adopting practices of both approaches. At the end of the survey, it was found that the project management software in Brazil is done by combining traditional and agile practices. The results were satisfactory, validating the present proposal.

This work intends to contribute to the planning guidelines in the field of value chain management (VCM). Thus, it develops a model reference proposal supported by the definition of a highly complex environment of knowledge towards on the innovation value chain performance in the product/technology development process (PDP) applied to technology-based companies under uncertainty and restraint. This stage considers a sequence of systematic procedures in the following phases: 1) determining the information needs in two stages; 2) determination of knowledge objects. The results produced are satisfactory, validating the proposed procedure for VCM.
