The aim of this paper is to report a case of odontogenic myxoma that affected the right maxilla and maxillary sinus. We have also reviewed the literature in regards of the clinical, radiographic, histological and treatment aspects of this pathology. Odontogenic myxomas of the maxillofacial region are benign lesions, without preference for gender, race or location, with extremely varied clinical and radiographic characteristics, thus increasing the number oral and maxillofacial region tumors with which we can make the differential diagnosis.

The Vernet, Collet-Sicard and Villaret Syndromes are uncommon; they affect the spaces through which some of the cranial nerves pass and can lead to the impairment of motor functions of the tongue. The etiology is variable, including benign or malignant tumors, metastasis, infections, or Idiopathic causes. Patients with the disease may report changes in the mobility and function of the tongue, dysphonia, dysarthria and dysphagia. The purpose of this article was present a case report of Collet-Sicard syndrome, and to highlight the importance of proper diagnosis by dentists. Appropriate treatment must be instituted as soon as possible and the patient should be treated by a multidisciplinary team until the complete remission of symptoms. Indexing terms: Neoplasms. Syndrome. Tongue.

Dentigerous cyst, ranked the second most common developmental odontogenic cyst of the jaws after the radicular cyst, is a well-defined, unilocular radiolucent lesion without symptoms, frequently noted as an incidental finding in routine radiographs. The cystic lining is derived from epithelial remanants of the tooth-forming organ and the teeth most commonly affected are impacted mandibular third molars and permanent maxillary canines. While the dentigerous cyst is not uncommon, its development as a result of an impacted deciduous tooth is rare. The aim of this article was to make a brief literature review and report a case of dentigerous cysts associated with an impacted deciduous molar in the maxillary posterior region, with involvement of the right maxillary sinus. Indexing terms: Surgery oral. Dentigerous cyst. Odontogenic cyst. Deciduous teeth

The canines are important teeth as regards function, occlusion and esthetics. Disturbances with the eruption of permanent maxillary canines are common. Ectopic eruption of a tooth germ can occur at any time after eruption. It has also been observed that upper canines are affected with eruption disorders more than the third molars. The diagnosis of retained teeth is performed through clinical and radiographic examination, or through the investigation of various complaints, such as pain or orthodontic problems. The dental surgeon should be familiar with the anatomical and functional changes of the impaction, ectopic teeth and the possible repercussions for the patient, because recommendations on the decisions to be taken in cases of canine impaction, are determined through a careful study of each case. The purpose of this paper is to report a rare case of a buried canine in the proximity of the orbital border. Indexing terms: Cuspid. Oral surgery. Tooth, unerupted.
