Gutes Altern in der Türkei: Eine empirische Untersuchung über Hochaltrigkeit

ZusammenfassungHintergrund/FragestellungenVor dem Hintergrund der Kontinuitätstheorie wird die Frage gestellt, inwiefern hochaltrige Menschen in der Türkei in ihren vergangenen Lebensjahrzehnten Kontinuitätsprozesse oder Diskontinuitätsprozesse feststellen konnten. Dabei wird gutes Altern mit Kontinuität gleichgesetzt.MethodikMethodisch wurden dabei bei über 80-JährigenIndizes mit den Schwerpunkten Gesundheitszustand,Selbstbild, Beziehungen und Lebenszufriedenheit gebildet und in Bezug auf verschiedene Lebensphasen abgefragt.Ergebnisse/SchlussfolgerungenDie Untersuchung ergibt,dass erfolgreiches Altern weniger vom Gesundheitszustand,sondern vielmehr von psychosozialen und sozialen Ressourcen abhängt.AbstractBackground/AimsGiven the background of the continuity theory, the question is how elderly people in Turkey were able to establish continuity or discontinuity processes in previous decades of their life. Therefore, good aging equates with continuity.MethodsA sample of persons aged 80 years or over was thus compiled, focusing on the indices of health status, selfimage, relationships, and life satisfaction, and were questioned in relation to different life phases.Results/ConclusionsThe study demonstrates that successful aging is less dependent on the state of health, but rather on psychosocial and social resources.
