Abstract 1. 1. Clearance rates after injection of four plasma 1- 14 C free fatty acids were determined. Relative rates were oleate and linoleate > sterate and palmitate. 2. 2. Half-lives of these fatty acids were stearate > palmitate and linoleate > oleate. 3. 3. Incorporation of 14 C in all other plasma lipid classes was negligible.
