The Swelling Properties of Nitrile Rubber with Different Acrylonitrile Contents in Cyclohexane Medium Research

Huiming Wang; Xiao Ren Lv; Shi Jie Wang

By the research of swelling and mechanical properties of nitrile rubber with different acrylonitrile contents in cyclohexane medium, the influences of physical and mechanical properties with diffrent acrylonitrile contents is analyzed. The results indicated that: the quality of all the nitrile-butadiene rubbers with different acrylonitrile contents is increasing with the increase of soaking time. It increases rapidly in the first 24 hours then gently. With the increase of the acrylonitrile content, the increasing proportions of swilling quality is reduceing. But N40 cyclohexane performance is better relatively. After drying the three kinds of rubber in 110 degrees Celsius, all the qualities is lower than the original value. It means that in swelling process, the material in rubber is pulled out and the distance between the rubber molecules decreases. After swilling the three kinds of rubber, their hardness decreases and the decline proportion is reducing by the increase of acrylonitrile content. With different acrylonitrile contents and swilling times the nitrile rubber shows different mechanical properties. After soaking three kinds of rubber their tensile strengthes are on the decline by swilling time and their rates of permanent deformation are on the rise. It shows that as the swelling time extended, the mechanical properties descends and the corresponding indicators after soaked and dried is lower than the quantitative values after soaked. The study has a certain reference of design of ESPCP stator under certain operating conditions.

Finite Element Analysis of Stress for Nozzle Zone at Channel of Pressure Vessel

Xiao Ren Lv; Shi Jie Wang

With the development of petrochemical industry, the status of pressure vessel has become increasingly important, and higher requirements are introduced for the security of nozzle zone at the pressure bearing region of pressure vessel. In order to study the stress status of nozzle zone at the channel of pressure vessel, solid modeling for channel and straight pipe was performed with ANSYS software. Through finite element analysis and calculation, the stress concentration region of channel was determined and the reason was analyzed. In addition, the nozzle zones of the model before and after loading were compared. The result reveals that symmetrical stress concentration region lies at the junction of channel and pipe. The maximum stress is located at the inside of nozzle zone of channel and less than the yield stress of material.

The Effect of Load on Friction and Wear Behavior of NBR and FPM under Dry Sliding

Xiao Ren Lv; Hao Sun; Xuan Luo; Shi Jie Wang

The effect of load on the friction and wear behavior of NBR and FPM was investigated using a ring-on-block tester under dry sliding. The hardness and morphology of worn surface were measured using Shore Hardness and stereo microscope, respectively. The results showed that at the load of 50, 100 and 150N, the wear loss of NBR was lower than that of FPM and the frictional coefficient of NBR was the same as that of FPM. While at the load of 175, 200 and 225N, the wear loss and frictional coefficient of NBR were higher than that of FPM. The reason for the variation of friction and wear behavior of NBR and FPM under different load was discussed preliminarily.

Zhong Feng Guo; Shi Jie Wang; Lei Wang; Yi Zhang; Zhong Wei Ren

For studying physical properties of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber(NBR) stator of Electrical Submersible-motor-driven Progressive Cavity Pumping (ESPCP) with oil erosion, two different formulations of NBR soaked in crude oil at 90 °C for 168h. Variation rule with time of rubber quality, hardness, volume, tensile strength and elongation rate are got. The results show that erosion in the same temperature, rubber quality increase rapidly in the first 24h, increase slowly down in 24~168h. Rubber hardness does not change significantly soaked within 168h. Rubber volume change obviously in the first 72h and change slowly in 72~168h. In the first 96h, the rubbers tensile strength and elongation rate change quickly, slowly changes in 96~168h. The study has a certain reference of design of ESPCP stator under certain operating conditions.

Theoretical and Experimental Study on Mechanical Force of Transformer Coil Short Circuit

Jing Zhao; Ying Li; Shi Jie Wang; Ming Yin Yan

As one of the most important components of transmission equipment in electric power field, power transformer bears the important task of energy conversion, power distribution and energy transfer. Because generated a huge force in transformer winding by its interior circuit excitation, it would be taken place easily to distortion, collapse and other damage of its structure, which brings a large safe and reliable problem. The lack of mechanical strength of the coil, which cannot withstand the sudden short-circuit current impact, led to the break of insulating layers, is one of the main causes in transformer failure. In this paper, it is discussed that theoretical and experimental study on mechanical force of transformer coil short circuit. According to the structural mechanics, the calculation of the contacted pressure between the coils is attained by building the contacted model. And the experimental system is been designed, which has a servo control system. Compared the theoretical and the Experimental data, the best accurate computed method for contacted pressure is obtained. It is helpful to improve the resistance ability for short circuit of transformer, and provide guarantee for the safe operation of the transformer.
