A Study on the Consciousness of Officers on Forest Conservation and on the Partnership between the Local Governments and Civic Groups in Cities

In this study, the object is to clarify the consciousness by officers concerning forest conservation through partnership between the local governments and civic groups in cities. Cities within the prefectures of Tokyo, Saitama, Kanagawa and Chiba have been selected as the subjects of this study. Through literature/documentary research and surveys conducted on municipalities, an understanding has been gained on the present state of the policies for raising the citizen’s interests toward forest conservation, the reality of partnership with civic groups, and the effects, problems and challenges brought about by the partnership with civic groups. As a result, it has been recognized that inner-city municipalities and their vicinities were more likely to be developing measures for raising the citizen’s interests toward forest conservation. The officers of these municipalities were aware of the fact that partnership with civic groups is frequent, and that the activities for forest conservation by civic groups are effective. Moreover, it has been understood that in all areas, the continuity of activities by civic groups is recognized as the main problem.

A Study on the Distribution of Hedges including Camellia japonica in Ohara Town

本研究では, 千葉県大原町のツバキを中心とした生垣について取り上げ, 分布実態を把握するとともに, 住民意識の面からも考察を加え, 今後の生垣の保全にかかわる課題と方向性について検討した。その結果, 囲障分布実態調査からは, 囲障形式の分類5タイプのうち, 生垣型は31.9%であったこと, 生垣用樹種としては, イヌマキが多くを占めたが, ツバキの生垣が特徴的な地区が存在し, 分布の固有性, 歴史性, 希少性からツバキの生垣の保全が必要であることが把握された。また, 住民意識調査から, ツバキの生垣に対する保全意識が高いこと, 病虫害が維持, 管理上の問題点であること, 助成施策の充実が必要であることが把握された。

Fundamental Study on the Planning of Nature Conservation for Inhabitant Small Animals and Insects in Tokyo Ward

自然の小動物が生息しうる潤いのある都市環境の形成を図っていくことは, 重要な課題と言える。本研究は, 東京都杉並区を研究対象地とし, 緑の分布特性や住民意識調査を通じて, 小動物の生息からみた緑の保全等の方向性を探ってみた。その結果, 緑被地の状況と小動物の生息状況については4タイプに分類され, 生息にあたっての核的存在となる公園緑地の確保やそのネットワーク化, さらには, 地域ぐるみの緑化の必要性等が把握された。
