Eccrine sweat gland adenoma, clear cell type: A histochemical study

James M. O'Hara; Klaus G. Bensch; George Ioannides; Sidney N. Klaus

Five examples of eccrine sweat gland adenoma (nodular eccrine hidradenoma), clear cell type, are presented. Several histogenetic theories pertaining to this neoplasm are discussed and the worlds literature is reviewed. Data obtained from mucin and enzyme histochemical studies are presented which clearly relate this tumor to the “clear” cells of the eccrine secretory coil. The significance of these observations are discussed and related briefly to other eccrine sweat gland adenomas whose histogenesis previously has been established.

Cutis laxa associated with pulmonary artery stenosis

Jay G. Hayden; Norman S. Talner; Sidney N. Klaus

Cutis laxa and pulmonary artery stenosis are described in a 4-year-old boy. Although the association of these two disorders has not been reported previously, evidence collected from previous studies indicates that their relationship is not haphazard, but is related to a generalized defect in elastic tissue fibers.
