The Cocar (Cooperative Cars) project is investigating the feasibility of cellular mobile communication technologies for rapid traffic data exchange. Ericsson, Vodafone, Daimler, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge und Volkswagen are cooperating with the three universities Erlangen-Nuremberg, Bremen, and RWTH Aachen to develop platform-independent communication protocols, innovative system components and cooperative vehicle applications of the future.
