Passenger car common rail systems for future emissions standards

Minimum raw emissions with maximum engine performance, a noise level comparable with that of gasoline engines, and continuing unmatched fuel economy — these are the requirements for future diesel applications. One of the major challenges is clearly going to be compliant with future EU emissions standards. This will be possible only injecting precisely metered diesel fuel quantities into the combustion chamber. Here today’s state-of-the-art common rail injection systems will continue to play a key role in diesel technology. The functional spectrum of Bosch common rail systems, from second to fourth generations, now gives automotive manufacturers a comprehensive range of injection technology for meeting the above objectives, in combination with engine design features and exhaust gas aftertreatment.

Niedrigere Rohemissionen bei gleichzeitig hoherer Motorperformance, ein mit Ottomotoren vergleichbares Gerauschniveau und ein konkurrenzlos niedriger Verbrauch — so lauten die Anforderungen an kunftige Dieselapplikationen. Eine der grosten Herausforderungen stellen dabei die kunftigen EU-Emissionsstandards dar. Zu deren Erfullung ist eine hochprazise Zumessung von Dieselkraftstoff in den Brennraum gefordert. Hierbei spielen moderne Einspritzsysteme auch kunftig eine Schlusselrolle. Das funktionale Spektrum der Common-Rail-Systeme von Bosch von der zweiten bis hin zur vierten Generation bietet ein umfassendes Portfolio an Einspritztechnik, um die genannten Ziele in Kombination mit Motormasnahmen und der Abgasnachbehandlung zu erreichen.
