Die naechste Generation lichtbasierter Fahrerassistenzsysteme

Christian Amsel; Georg Florissen; Steffen Pietzonka

Steffen Pietzonka; Maik Bluhm; Hubert Zwick

The next generation of light-based driver assistance systems

Christian Amsel; Georg Florissen; Steffen Pietzonka

The headlamps are increasingly becoming an assistance system that supports drivers in avoiding dangerous situations when driving at night. A significant advancement in quality is offered by an adaptive cut-off line and glare-free high beam light that are made possible by the use of a camera system. Hella is continuing to develop further innovative solutions and is now working on adaptive lighting functions on the basis of LED headlamps.

Future developments in LED headlamps

Mirco Götz; Michael Kleinkes; Steffen Pietzonka; Norbert Schiermeister

As a grounding-breaking innovation, LED headlamps are for the time being to be found in the premium segment. In order to transfer LED headlamps to the volume segment, concepts must be developed which are aimed at reducing the currently very high development and parts costs, as well as further increasing the system efficiency. Based on the experience which Hella gained within the framework of the development of the first LED headlamp in the Cadillac Escalade Platinum, concepts and solutions for meeting future requirements in relation to LED headlamps are described here.

Technology and design

Steffen Pietzonka; Maik Bluhm; Hubert Zwick

The requirement of vehicle manufacturers for possibilities of differentiation on the one hand and the compelling technical necessity to provide low-profile lamp concepts on the other have led to a wide range of light guide applications being introduced in passenger vehicles in the past few years. This article by Hella will provide a summary of light guide technology and illustrate the outlook for future lamp concepts using the example of non-contact switching. The article also deals with the interaction of technical, design-oriented and ergonomic points of view during the creation of new products.
