Related Factors to the Performance of Cadres of Larva Monitoring and Health Workers in the Control of Dengue High Fever (DHF) in Palopo

This research aims to analyze factors that are related to the performance of mosquito larvae observer cadres in controlling dengue in Palopo city. The type of this study was observational research with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in 5 areas of public health centers in Palopo city which have mosquito larvae observes. There are 50 populations collected with total sampling and data were collected using interview and questionnaires. The data analysis used chi-square test and logistic regression. The result indicate that the majority of respondents aged 28-32 years (30%) educated Senior High School or the same level (62.0%), married status (90.0%), length of service <3 years and >3 years is the same amount (50%) and all of them live in work site (100%). The result of chi square test indicates that the existence of relationship between knowledge (p=0.002), skill (p=0.016), social condition of work environment (p=0.002) and individual need (p=0.006) with performance of mosquito larvae observer in dengue control. The result of dominant variable analysis by logistic regression test with backward method indicate that the most significant variable having connection with mosquito larvae observer in controlling dengue are the factor of skill (p=0.006; Exp (B) = 8.443) and then social condition factor (p= 0.008; Exp (B) = 7.455.

Factors related quality of life among people living with HIV and AIDS in Bulukumba

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) are most serious health problems and challenges in the word. There were 36.9 million of PLHIV in the world and 17.1 million are unaware about their HIV status. 22 million of PLHIV are not getting access to antiretroviral Therapy (ART) access including 1.8 million children. Mathers and Loncar (2006) predict that deaths due to HIV and AIDS will be continue to increase until 2030.

This study aimed to analyze the legal aspects of health services at the emergency unit of dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital in Makassar, Indonesia. This type of research was a survey with descriptive design to obtain an overview of the competence of the hospital to provide health services, service without a down payment, the right to claim damages, refusal of medical action and the provision of information. The research was a quantitative research and supported by qualitative data. Samples were obtained by accidental sampling method.

Increasing midwifery skill for pregnancy health care with ammuntuli bija tianang na Beja-Beja model

Health problems that are very complex requires handling together involving of all health professionals and good collaboration efforts. Malnourished Children become one of health problems and it is important to prepare for the generation of high quality. Health education is expected to increase the knowledge of health workers about collaboration across the profession. competency that will affect the performance of health workers to improve the quality of health services in general. This research aims to assess the difference between the competencies collaboration across health professions in handling the cases of malnutrition in children before the training and three months after the training on the clinic. Using the research design “Quasi experiment” with research design using “pretest and posttest with a control group design”. There are 40 the respondents divided into 20 respondent treatment groups and 20 people in the control group. Sampling techniques Stratified random sampling. The results of the study showed that the average knowledge of treatment group pre-intervention and post intervention to have the value of the p domain of 0.330 purpose. The value of the p domain the role of 0.811, value p domain communication 0.000 (<0.05), the value of the p domain 0.000 process (<0.05), the value of the p domain 0.343 cooperation, the value of the p domain 0.031 leadership (<0.05) and the value of the p domain structure of 1000. Recommended researchers next to design health education which is able to improve competency on a different domain.

Culture and health behavior of buton society of Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi

Cultures form habits and responses to health and disease in society regardless of their level and background. Local beliefs arise in locality with different settings of life, traditions, customs and cultures. Similarly, the traditions of the Buton tribe in Baubau city are believed to be ‘Dole-dole’ as an effort to give immunity to infants and toddlers (under five years). This study aims to find the strengthening of public health promotion in dole-dole tradition as local wisdom in Buton City, Baubau. The method used is qualitative with ethnography approach, 12 informants consisting of 5 regular informants, 4 supporting informants and 3 key informants. Based on empirical and theoretical studies, the study found that Dole-dole is considered a traditional immunization that can prevent and cure disease in children. This tradition is backed by the belief since the ancestors by the ancestors of Buton people who have been doing dole-dole and give healing. It is believed and always carried on from generation to generation until now.

PERFORMANCE OF HEALTH OFFICE MAMBERAMO CENTRAL DISTRICT IN THE MOTHER AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM

The coverage of maternal and child health programs in the district health offices of Central Mamberamo is still low based on indicator of minimum service standard that has been determined from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the performance of Central Mamberamo District Health Office on Maternal and Child Health Program (KIA). The research method is qualitative with case study approach. The informants were 12 people who were the leaders and implementers of maternal and child health programs in the health offices and puskesmas. Data collection through observation, document review and in-depth interviews. Data analysis using content analysis. The result of the research shows that there are still some midwives of health center as an officer in health service program of mother and child have not been able and skilled in running the program and some officer do not have registration letter of midwife as health care quality assurance. The availability of funds is still lacking for some puskesmas and its use is not right on target. The allocation of funds is mostly for facilities and infrastructure and personnel expenditure. In addition there is a delay in the realization of the budget. Program supervision has not been run regularly and there is no integrated supervision team established by the health department. The process of planning of maternal and child health programs has not been maximized because the annual work plan has not been prepared by maternal and child health sectors and bottom up planning by puskesmas has not been done yet. It was concluded that the implementation of maternal and child health programs in the district health offices of Central Mamberamo has not run as expected.
