Analysis of Stability for Gas-Kinetic Non-Local Traffic Model

The gas-kinetic non-local traffic model is improved by taking into account the relative velocity of the correlated vehicles. The stability of different relaxation time modes is analytically investigated with the perturbation method. The analysis and numerical simulations validate that the density-velocity dependent relaxation time model is more stable than the other gas-kinetic traffic models in the high density traffic jams.

A High-Order Meshless Bhatnagar?Gross?Krook Scheme Based on Point Collocation

A point collocation method is combined with the Bhatnagar–Gross–Krook (BGK) scheme. The point collocation method is based on reproducing kernel approximations. The BGK scheme developed is evaluated under the finite difference method framework. After the construction of local equilibrium distribution function, the second-order accurate least-square kinetic upwind method is employed to improve the accuracy. Some test cases are explored to validate this meshless method.

Application of BGK Scheme on Micro-Channel Gas Flow

A modified gas kinetic Bhatnagar–Gross–Krook (BGK) scheme for microflow has been developed upon the simultaneous collision model. Based on experimental and numerical results, the sub-choked pressure ratios are investigated. The current numerical approach is validated to provide a practical solution for microchannel flow.
